Election rant about being a millennial

I'm 25 so I'm a millennial. Everyone for trump and everyone for HRC that I know treats me like I'm either a child or I'm retarded. I'm really losing my patience with the insults. In fact it's so bad I don't even know if I'm gunna stay with either party. I've always been a democrat. I have not and never will vote for a republican. The attacks are vicious and its all because of my fucking age!

Also this is not a winning strategy. If any of the other young people are treated half as bad as I have been this election than HRC has no chance of winning the general.

The division

Warning post might be controversial and remember this is just my opinion so please be civil.

As a Bernie supporter and as an American I am very disappointed in this election. For the first time since the Reagan administration we now have a true progressive candidate running. Also sanders is the first candidate since Reagan to run his presidential campaign solely focused on the economy. He is also one of the few politicians that doesn't believe in that Reaganomics bullshit that both parties insist helps our economic. Imagine that a real candidate for progressive economic reform. Not no. Trump decided to make this an election about race. Fuck that white supremacist pig! Because for a while the democratic platform was about the economy. But Hillary saw an opportunity and stole some of Donald's platform of race. I'm not saying it on the same level by any means but the conversation of the entire election is about race and it's really pissing me off! We were actually talking about real issues until don became the racist candidate which Hillary in part then decided to change the conversation. We should not meet him with violence. We should show the world how crazy and intolerable his racism is! For the first time in the Democratic Party because of Hillary I have seen some racism coming from this party! We need to stop that shit! For the first time ever! I don't want to be a democrat!

Also it's ok to disagree with me or this post. I would love to hear different options with either view point.

HRC's email problems just got worse

Here is the article:https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/the-fix/wp/2016/05/25/hillary-clintons-email-problems-just-got-much-worse/

Letting her go to the presidency is political suicide! She broke the law!

Why all the hate towards Cornell West?

He is a champion of the progressive movement and a champion of human rights. Why is he getting attacked? How can you attack him and be for racial equality? How can you attack him and still call yourself a liberal?

That is all.

Collapse (Post-Amerika)

Hi there friends at DU! this is part 2 of a series of posts that I am doing.
you can read part 1 here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280194197

The topic of this post is how the American dream still lives on! but in Europe. the other part of the topic is how we started going away from our FDR progressive roots because of Ronald Reagan.

The Passing of the Torch

I talked in great detail about how FDR changed the USA and brought about real progressive reform to our nation. But FDR's reforms took root in the EU after the war. You can pretty much say his ideas still live on but the live on in the EU. Many of Europe's nations have adopted the progressive policies of FDR. Lets start with Italy, Germany, and France. In Italy they really care about their work force. They have a 36 hour work week with paid leave and Italy also has a law that it is illegal to make some one work more than 40 hours a week. not only is it illegal for your boss to email or call you after work but the Italians also have fully paid maternity leave. now imagine that in the USA! We all know Germany has some of the strongest unions in the world and a great work force as well. what is amazing about Germany's economy is how they got it. After the war we were left with a choice. We could help rebuild Germany or say its not our problem. Our country took the high road and helped shaped Germany into a great country with a thriving economy. People just had a different attitude back then and cared about how we treated each other. Even when we were wronged by Hitler we still were able to forgive. Now we move on to France. Nutrition in the school system is very important in France.

In Frances public schools lunch time is a 60 minute class where they learn about diet and manners at the dinner table. Because lunch is a class the kids in France don't have problems with obesity and they don't go hungry like they do in the United States. The UK has even adopted a single payer healthcare system from their rebuilding after wwii. The Scandinavian countries have socialized medicine and because of that they have some of the best healthcare on the world. One important holiday they celebrate in Europe is May Day. May Day is celebrated in many countries as a traditional springtime festival or as an international day honoring workers and the People get the day off to celebrate and protest current events. So as you can see the American dream is alive and well in Europe but unfortunately we lost touch back in the USA.

This is Cardiac Arrest

Unfortunately we are Losing our progressive values as a country. Ronald Reagan Brought in a bizarre anti Roosevelt way of thinking into the United States. Reagan Replaced progressive taxation with tax cuts for the top and the elite. Therefore the money needed to provide services was cut as well. That is why we have the anti welfare mentality from the crazy conservatives. Reagan also gave us supply side economics or voodoo economics. This goes against traditional economics where supply is supposed to meet demand. We also started to focus all of our spending on the military instead of the schools and our health as a nation. Ronald Reagan has ruined our political system and is one of the worst presidents we have ever had. He was the first step to the oligarchy that we have today.

We have to fight for all of our rights. If you want to know what our country can achieve with progress ideas then Europe is a great place to look at.

My challenge for all of you is to watch Michael Moore's Where to Invade Next and also watch Pay to Play. Part 3 will be about the economic collapse and what caused it which I will post here. I Hope Y'all enjoyed this post.

But The Riot Inside Moves On

Hello fiends at DU! this post is about the Bernie revolution and its impact on the United States in the present and in the future. this post also examines the core values of the revolution from American History and how we can put it all into action. last but not least this post talks about how we millennials have the power to make history for our country.

The Original Fire

When I think of my country and politics I think of my grand father who served in wwii. He was a proud FDR Progressive and a hero to me. I can still remember his stories of Europe and the horrors he saw in the battle of the bulge. As my grand father would point out if he was still here today it was a very interesting time to be an American. Under Roosevelt we fought evil fascim in Europe and tried to make the world a better place. He was in my and in my grandfathers opinion our greatest president. FDR stood for workers rights and got our country out of the great depression by signing the new deal into law. FDR even for broke up the big banks and multinationals by signing into law the glass-steagall act and the WPA into law to modernize infrastructure and provide government jobs. The multinationals had to pay a way higher tax rate than today. FDR also signed social security into law and created the security exchange commission to establish rules and regulations on wall street. In fact these accomplishments had made us into the worlds next big superpower and the perk of no financial collapses for 60 years! We at that time were a role model to the world.

I remember my grand father being very pro union in part because of FDR and the labor movement. FDR famously sent in the national guard to help protect workers that staged a sit in at a plant as seen in Micheal Moore's capitalism a love story.
It is incredible to think that a president would support the workers on that level but in that time the USA was a shining beacon of hope beacause of FDR and the labour movement.

FDR was also working on a second bill of rights but unfortunately he died of polio. The second bill of right would have been an incredible achievement for our country and the progressive movement. The second bill of rights would have guaranteed eight specific rights:

Employment (right to a job)

Food, clothing and leisure, via enough income to support them

Farmers' rights to a fair income

Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies

Housing

Medical care

Social security

Education

Roosevelt stated that having these rights would guarantee American security, and that the United States' place in the world depended upon how far these and similar rights had been carried into practice.

read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Bill_of_Rights
This second bill of rights is the basis and foundation of our movement as progressives and we cant forget that. Now you understand why Roosevelt was the original fire and if the republicans have anything to say about it than the original fire has died and gone.

But The Riot Inside Moves On

As progressives we have to keep these ideas alive by supporting Bernie and keeping the revolution going. Bernie in many ways reminds me of my grandfather and I think Bernie speaks for the progressive Roosevelt era American. We millennials have an unusual chance to be like the generation of my grandfather and I think that is exactly what America needs right now. We need to protest and vote to make sure this revolution stays alive. with this revolution we have a chance at getting progressive values signed into law but we need to continue to make sure both parties are held accountable for their actions. Here is a list of things we can do to keep the revolution going:

1. protest and march let your voices be heard

2. vote for progressive candidates in the national and local elections

3. stage sit ins and strikes in factories and in the work place. remember the change starts with you

4. block wall street from being able to get anything done by striking and sit ins at the stock exchange

6. boycott companies that pollute and don't treat their workers fairly

7. invest in green energy and in fair companies

8. hold all politicians accountable for their words and their actions

I know we have the power to change the status quo so that is why I'm going to give you this first assignment for the revolution. in the comments give ideas for the revolution and please rec and leave a smiley to show that you support Bernie and his revolution and that you are progressive. I hope you all enjoyed my post!

This is part 1 of a series of posts. Part 2 will focus on how FDR progressivism helped to shape Europe into what it was today and how the United States went away from progressive ideas specifically on trade. So stay tuned for part 2 which I will link here:http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280199775 I hope to see y'all then
