Florida has always been "off", let's be honest

Let's face the facts. Florida has always been a very kooky place...Who can forget the 2000 election? Seriously? Florida's fault for such incompetence and all the controversy, it was a royal fuck up like we have NEVER seen before.

Florida is a land full of bugs and mosquitoes and humidity, and flat land, and swamps...it just is a horrible place. Let's admit it. There is a reason they have called it "Flori-DUH" for years.

I would never want to set foot in the place. Some states are an embarrassment to America, and Florida is one of 'em. Something in the water down there, perhaps. Check this article out for some more of the same Florida craziness:

Florida - The Dark Side to the Sunshine State

But Florida has a dark side, a seedy Southern underbelly with a redneck-esque attitude and some shocking stories to tell and no I’m not talking about Flo Rida the “rapper”. Some of the bigger, more shocking stories have travelled over to our dingy, grey, rain soaked shores over the last few months, highlights including the murder of an unarmed Trayvon Martin by a local neighbourhood watch turned vigilante George Zimmerman which has sparked international outrage and protests across the whole of the United States, the murder of two British tourists by Shawn Tyson during an apparent drug deal that went tits up and who of course could forget the Miami bath salts zombie cannibal attack of last year.

But it appears that this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the bonkers nature of the Florida news scene. It appears that if you want to hear some of the weirdest, craziest, most fucked up news stories the world has to offer then you need to be tuned to a Florida news channel.

Hillary: "I believe law abiding, responsible Americans have a right to own guns"

This was in answer to the CNN reporter asking about what she thought regarding the Second Amendment. So, looks like that is settled.

She went on to say she would like to see an assault weapon ban re-instituted, and other "common sense" reforms.

What most Americans will think when they hear ISIS and "Omar Mateen" is going to be the stereotype

of the typical Muslim extremist, unfortunately.

That is the lasting impression they will get from this story: Another Muslim terrorist killed a bunch of people, and they won't read beyond the headlines.

As we start to see there is a lot more to this story, that his former wife and his father both said they didn't think religion played a part in this, and that this guy was a regular at the gay night club where he ended up going on a shooting spree, this info won't penetrate most Americans first impressions of a foreign sounding name, and the headline of this crazy guy pledging allegiance to ISIS.

Just a somewhat gloomy late night musing, and thinking of most Americans short attention spans these days.

Why picking a female VP would be advantageous to Hillary

Ok, maybe I'm the only odd ball who thinks this, but I think that Hillary should pick a woman for VP, and if not Warren, then some other female politician.

I just think that would truly be a historic national ticket, not one but two women, and so interesting to watch a race between the "women ticket" against the traditional "white male ticket", (because I'm pretty sure Trump will choose another white male for his VP)

Would that be a fascinating contest, or what?

And, since women outnumber men as far as the US population goes, it would seem to hold a big advantage for Hillary to do something like this.

Am I way off base, or what?

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by only 7 points in Connecticut

Likely Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has a single-digit lead over presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in deep-blue Connecticut, according to a poll released Tuesday.

Mrs. Clinton was at 45 percent in the Quinnipiac University poll and Mr. Trump was at 38 percent.

“While Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump, her single digit lead is smaller than might be expected from true-blue Connecticut, and her negative favorability rating is almost as bad as his,” said Quinnipiac University Poll Director Douglas Schwartz.

“It’s pretty amazing that Trump is within single digits of Clinton, given how poorly he scores on having the temperament and being prepared for the presidency,” Dr. Schwartz said. “What Trump has going for him is the desire for change, and the weakness of Hillary Clinton.”

Sen. Bernard Sanders, meanwhile, led Mr. Trump by 19 points, 54 percent to 35 percent.

This is a solidly Democratic blue state that Obama won by 18 points in 2012, and as we see in the poll, Bernie has a similar lead, whereas Hillary can only manage a slim 7 point lead, and the battle between her and Trump hasn't even started yet...

I'm sick of California and the West Coast going damn near LAST in having a say in the process

in the primaries!

This is so wrong. All the liberals and progressives are out here in the West (yes, I live out here as well ) And we deserve a more important place to decide the candidate!

California, Oregon and Washington should all move up their primaries to damn near Iowa. If not all three, then at the very LEAST California. It should go Iowa is first, then California!

The Media may as well have announced Hillary as presumptive nominee back before Iowa

the way they have treated Bernie and his campaign - radio silence - compared to both Trump and Hillary.

If they had made that announcement back then, it wouldn't have made little, if any, difference in the coverage so far.

Hell, I'm surprised if most of the mainstream media's reporters and personnel have even heard of Bernie Sanders...
