How apropos, considering what comes from Donny's mouth:

Trump says he'd only use nuclear weapons in a sarcastic way

Loving this Borowitz Report article from The New Yorker! LULZ!

"If I ever used nuclear weapons it would be really obvious that I was just being sarcastic.”

Pressed by Blitzer to explain the difference between a sarcastic and non-sarcastic nuclear attack, Trump responded, “You’d use the weapons and everything, but then you’d say, ‘Just kidding.’”

"They go low, we go high."

Michelle Obama's philosophy of exhibiting class and civility is often not followed by Dems, like here at the DU. Now, before anyone accuses me of pointing fingers, I am going to admit that I'm GUILTY!!!! And sometimes I just can't help myself.

What I'm wondering is two-fold:

1) Do you share your harshest opinions of Trump only on anonymous forums as a means to vent so your head doesn't explode? Do you choose your words and insults more carefully when you're talking to real people?

2) Have you ever said or written anything about Trump that you actually regret? Brainless. Heartless. Soulless. Small hands, small dick. Orange Cheeto/Orange Jesus. Asshole. And on and on.

CNN reporting that Paul Ryan

is not ruling out revoking his support for Trump.

Thanks for putting your infighting back in the headlines today, GOP!!

Ben Carson's alternative view of reality

Speaking with Wolf Blitzer regarding the Drumpf campaign meltdown:

"There is no emergency here whatsoever."

"People are trying all kinds of diversionary tactics... I think that Mr. Trump recognizes that and is going to make more of an effort not to fall for some of the things that are used to divert attention."

Bahahahahaha!!! Like Drumpf is not the diversion in and of himself. He's a one-man circus.

On Drumpf's unwillingness to endorse Ryan, McCain and Ayotte:

"I don't think it's nearly as big a bombshell as people are making it out to be. Again, let's concentrate on the big issues." He goes on to say that Drumpf's endorsement will come in time.

On Drumpf's remarks directed at the Khan family:

"Obviously any family who loses service members are people for whom we should have great sympathy. Certainly I feel very much for those families and recognize that they are grieving, and very often they will say and do things out of that grief. I think we should just give them a pass and move on."

Got that??? It's the Khan family that needs to be given a pass in this controversy.

Blitzer asks Carson if Drumpf should apologize.

"I don't think it would be harmful if they apologized to him and he apologized to them."

Blitzer asks why they should apologize.

"For one thing, if you accuse someone of something that is not true, it usually is a reasonable thing to acknowledge that. Rather than make this a one-sided issue, we don't we just say, 'Back off a little bit.'"

Newt Gingrich stumbling in the dark

Newt is attempting to side-step the need for Drumpf to apologize for his comments on the Khan family by suggesting that Clinton owes America an apology...

"Now she's lying about 50-some thousand emails. She's lying about national security. Why shouldn't she apologize? If Donald Trump owes anybody an apology, how come Hillary doesn't owe the whole country an apology?"

The article is available from a number of sources but pasted below is one of the top-rated comments on a right-wing site that posted the story. It's enough to turn your stomach. What an imbecile!

Terms and phrases politicians use that have become meaningless

"Believe me" has quickly become a joke since Drumpf says it so often and rarely follows those words with any truth whatsoever.

Are there other words and phrases commonly used by politicians that you'd rather not hear anymore?

I'm getting tired of "Let me be clear..." from pretty much anyone. It insinuates that the individual was what, using muddled language right up until that point?

I'm also not fond of "frankly" from a politician either. Seems to imply that he or she wasn't being frank prior to insisting that they are now going to be frank. Of course Barney Frank and Al Franken should be among the most frank.

Can you be friends with someone who holds political views opposed to yours?

How successful have you been at setting aside politics to maintain friendships? If you know someone who is vehemently pro-gun while you favor gun control, can you overlook that? If you know someone who is pro-life while you are pro-choice, do you just avoid talking about it and still stay buddies?

What if someone you know and respect reveals they are supporting Trump? Can you still look at them the same way? When it comes to the latter, I just can't. I simply can't. Anyone who backs Trump's simplistic, divisive rhetoric is not a person I want to spend any more time with than I absolutely have to.

Maybe that makes me the small-minded individual, but I draw the line at the Donald.

If you could ask Trump anything...

You might get your chance this Wednesday. He'll be doing a Reddit AMA! Should be a gong show!

Seriously, if you could ask anything, like "When exactly did you sell your soul to the devil?", what question would you pose?
