BTRTN: Why Would Norwegians Want to Come to a S---Hole Country Led by Donald Trump?

Born to Run the Numbers addresses the question of the day: Which country is the real shithole... the one that struggles with poverty and disease, or the one that is led by Donald Trump?

http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2018/01/why-would-norwegians-want-to-come-to-s.html

Excerpts:

"Yes, this time Donald Trump’s latest shit storm is actually a shit storm, as the President of the United States not only articulated his own overtly racist immigration policy, but did so with an incendiary scatological insult to Haiti and a number of African nations..."

"It turns out that in Donald Trump’s America, we limit our search for the tired, the poor, the hungry, and the huddled masses yearning to be free to the upscale neighborhoods in Bygdøy and Holmenkollåsen. Trump prefers “people from countries like Norway” to come to the United States, conveying an apparently deeply held conviction that Norwegians have vast untapped potential to become excellent Americans..."

BTRTN: Loose Bannon, Part II, The Rift That Keeps on Giving

Born to Run the Numbers on Steve Bannon's bomb cyclone of quotations in Fire and Fury.

http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2018/01/loose-bannon-part-ii-rift-that-keeps-on.html

Excerpts: "Democrats can fling sticks and stones at Donald Trump. The news industry’s efforts to bring Trump to task have been all but neutered by natural audience selection. Robert Mueller may someday be ready to take Trump down through an orderly constitutional process. But there is one guy who can damage Donald Trump’s standing with his ferociously loyal base, and that guy just pulled his rip cord...
All this Bannon fodder can be traced back to a simple truth: Bannon and Trump have been in a ferocious competition to take credit for Trump’s victory. Both absolutely crave that credit, and both are furious that the other appears to have taken more than their just share. Perhaps at only a subconscious level, Steve Bannon knows that his best hope of proving that he deserves credit for Donald Trump’s rise is to ensure that without Bannon, Trump falls. Hell hath no fury like a political consultant scorned. That Steve Bannon would allow himself to be quoted so freely, so viciously, and with such vitriolic hyperbole can hardly be considered a mere lapse of judgment. As James Bond’s creator Ian Fleming so eloquently put it, “once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action.”
Live by Bannon, die by Bannon. Instant kharma’s going to get you, Donald. Maybe this time it wasn’t such a great idea to scream, “You’re fired.”

BTRTN: The Ghost of Trump Yet to Come

Born to Run the Numbers scares Dickens out of you, seeing new ways Trump can debase the Presidency in 2018:

http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2017/12/the-ghost-of-trump-yet-to-come.html

Excerpt: "Yes, it’s Christmas time, and today we celebrate the season by tuning into A Christmas Carol: The Ghost of Donald Trump of the Future. We will follow the Magoo-in-Chief as he stumbles through 2018, continuing to prove that no matter what hideous deed he has committed, what awful words he has uttered, and what preposterous lies he has told, he can always find a way to do something even worse.

This has indeed been the signature identity of the man’s first year in office. Every time that you thought this guy had done the worst thing that an American President had ever done, he found a way to do something even more horrendous. Firing the director of the FBI for his investigation of Trump? Bad. But then Trump pulled our country out of the Paris Climate Accord. Nauseating? Yes, but not as awful as rallying to the defense of neo-Nazis. Retweeting anti-Muslim videos from a right-wing hate group? Sickening, but still not as horrific as actively and enthusiastically campaigning to elect a pedophile to the U.S. Senate. And these represent just a small sampling of Trump’s capacity to disgrace.

Is there always a way for this guy to sink lower? Let’s find out..."

BTRTN: When You Wish Upon a Tsar

Born to Run the Numbers asks: if Republicans are owned by Trump, and Trump is owned by Putin, does Putin own the Republicans? If sure looks that way, and sadly, there is "Moore to come."

http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2017/12/when-you-wish-upon-tsar.html

Excerpt: "With each lowering of the bar, and with each display of Republican acquiescence, Donald Trump learned how completely Republican Party leaders had sold their souls to win a Republican Presidency. Republicans wanted the White House at any cost, and when the only route there became Donald Trump, they went ahead, unwittingly signing over the rights to the Republican brand in the process... If the Republicans are owned by Trump, and Trump is owned by Putin, then guess what? The Republican Party must be owned by Putin. How else do you explain the next great act of Republican moral bankruptcy: the growing, concerted, and outrageous effort to discredit the integrity and motivation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election? ...If Robert Mueller finds absolutely incontrovertible evidence that Donald Trump was fully aware of and perhaps even involved in financial malfeasance, collusion, and/or obstruction of justice, one must question whether this Republican Party would act on it. If Robert Mueller finds unassailable proof of a 'high crime or misdemeanor,' will the Republicans in Congress simply punt, and have Sarah Huckabee Sanders mindlessly muse that these are just areas where we have to 'agree to disagree'?"

BTRTN: Let's Play "Two Truths and a Lie" with Sarah Huckabee Sanders!

Born To Run The Numbers on the White House weapon of mass deception, Sarah Huckabee Sanders:

http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2017/12/lets-play-two-truths-and-lie-with-sarah.html

Excerpt:"Ever dour, pompous, and oozing disdain for the lame stream media seated before her in the White House Press Room, Ms. Sanders handles the incoming razor sharp shrapnel from the press corps with the indifferent aplomb of a Stanley Cup goalie. Appearing world-weary and heavily wearing the patience of a saint on her sleeve, she listens to reporters impassively, clearly assessing whether any given question can be dismissed, evaded, muddled, protested, or – in an ideal world – quickly turned as evidence of the obvious biases and false narratives of the elite liberal press. In these moments, she instantly raises herself fully in her mantle of victimhood, raging at the 'boldness' of those who would accuse her or the Obfuscator-in-Chief of factual inaccuracy.

On Thursday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders was aggressively questioned about President Trump’s bizarre decision to re-tweet videos from a right-wing extremist group based in the United Kingdom. The videos purported to show violent crimes committed by Muslims, but the videos had never been substantiated and, in one case, has already proven to be phony. Ms. Sanders took to the view that trafficking in phony videos was perfectly fair because Donald Trump was simply trying to illustrate a broader threat that was indeed real...The ends justify the means. There are, one is left to conclude, situations in which Sarah Huckabee Sanders believes that it is “appropriate to lie from the podium.”
