A painting Russia's terrific trio from a year back

The people who would make Russia great again. A painting made last year during the primaries by a russian artist.

"Maria Katasonova pointed proudly to the three stylised portraits behind her: versions of Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Marine Le Pen, all made to look eerily similar with blond hair and identical outfits. “It’s called Triptych,” she said. “It was painted a year ago, when nobody believed Trump had a chance of winning, except us. Now, it’s a vision of the future.”"

The internet of things and russia

I just saw Malcom Nance on msnbc talking about the hacks here and abroad. One of the things he brought up was that russia doesn't just go after emails and info. They also do things like in the Ukraine where they shut down 3 power plants. Over the years there have been more things like plants, offshore platforms, etc that have internet remote control capabilities. I have worked on systems that have remote control and there are a lot out there already. The number is growing each day.

When dipshit donnie ignores the threat to the U.S. by trying to confuse or discount what the experts say. His ignorance and him ignoring the things that can and probably will happen just puts us at further risk.

Question about life insurance for a friend

Here's the deal. I have known her since middle school. My wife has known here since we got married 40 + years ago. She is 70 years old and in bad health. Had cancer and it seems to be in remission. Massive bone loss, drinks, smoker since she was young, uses a walker and wheel chair. She has a house which is upside down on the loan. Doesn't have any close family she can rely on. Closest is a sister in law. Her husband died ~10 years back. On SS, medicare, medicaid.

We have been helping her out since her husband died. Bringing her to doctor appointments, doing repairs on her house, mowing the lawn, and helping her on her bills. She doesn't have a life insurance to pay off the loan and the house is in very bad shape, cracked slab, etc. It will be just going back to the bank. Before her husband died of cancer they sold off everything they could to pay bills. And she turned into a hoarder/cat lady. I think she has around 20 cats now. My wife has power of attorney and executor. She wants to be buried. It's hard to say how long she will live. We have been expecting something for the last ~5 years.

We are trying to figure out what to do. We have looked some at buying her one of the funeral packages or paying for life insurance. To help out her final expenses. Any suggestions or experiences on something like this? We are not going to just let her go. So don't consider that as a something we would consider.

Local station yesterday had Dan Rather on

Normally I don't watch the show "Great Day Houston" because it's fluff. Also most of the show seems like a on going commercial. It normally is Houston based businesses. But I really can't stand it.

Yesterday was not the normal. They were interviewing Dan Rather. I just barely remember back that long but do remember when he went from the local CBS station to national. It was a really good interview and they had with him.

You can do a google search with "great day houston Dan Rather" to find more. But here is a link to the start of the show.

A dutch web article on dipshit donnie

It's a long video on vimeo from Zembla. And I haven't listened to the whole thing. Can't confirm the article. There are some interview segments from Malcom Nance.

Pretty sure this is the same video.

It sounds like the Prince Philip maybe stepping down from public life

This as of now is just conjecture. Not confirmed.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is 95, will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The Palace said in a statement it was the Duke's decision taken with the support of the Queen.

It said: "His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has decided that he will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year. In taking this decision, The Duke has the full support of The Queen.

Trump transition staffers head to K Street despite lobbying ban

Source: Politico

Donald Trump promised last year to “drain the swamp” of Washington, starting with barring people who worked on his presidential transition from lobbying for six months afterward.

But three months after Trump moved into the White House, at least nine people who worked on his transition have registered as lobbyists, highlighting holes in the president’s pledge to keep people from cashing in on government service.

Many are registered to lobby the same agencies or on the same issues they worked on during the transition, a POLITICO review of lobbying disclosures found. A former "sherpa" who helped to guide Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos through the Senate confirmation process is now registered to lobby her department. The former head of the transition's tax policy team has returned to his old company to lobby Congress on tax reform. One ex-member of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative team is now registered as part of a team lobbying on behalf of a major steelmaker.

Because of the way the transition’s six-month lobbying ban was worded, the former staffers may not be violating it. Regardless, their trips from lobbying to government service and back run counter to Trump's campaign promise to close Washington’s revolving door.

Edited to remove "no comment"

Just thinking about this. Are some of them the same people they escorted out of the WH because they couldn't get clearence?

A side note on joemika show today

It was a fast blurb but joe said since dipshit had been used to dealing with other business people he really didn't know how to handle people who were ideologues. That is the killer argument against the "we want a business man" idea. Which was one of the things joe the morning joke said he liked about dipshit in the first place. That he was a business man and knew how to get things done.

But you also have to add to that he had always been surrounded by toadies. Or other business people who really didn't care about anything other then if they could make a profit.

The just to add to why dipshit should have never been elected. Is how he actually "worked". He had others research, do the actual work and handle the details. He just signed on the line. That also seems to be the only thing he likes doing now.

Anybody else see what dipshit donnie did after he walked away from the reporter?

Sorry I don't have a link. Just saw it on hardball. Most of the videos show him as he was walking away, but stop there. Hardball had a video when he walked away he sat down on at the "Resolute" desk shuffling papers with his ego bruised and pouting. I guess his Jarvanka will have to set up another campaign rally to pick him up. Or give him a new voter map so he can color in the lines.
