Jared Kushner and Wu Xiaohui, the chairman of Anbang Insurance Group.

He was taken away and under investigations by Chinese authorities Friday. I wondered since the Kushner family had business ties in China were there any links. And yep, here is a article from Jan. 7, 2017

Burrs comment about Rogers closed session was interesting.

Burrs comment was directly after Heinrich accused Sessions of 'obstructing this investigation'. Could it have been a shot across the bow saying the intel committee already has corroboration of Comey's statement?

From The Hill.

"NSA director spoke to committee in closed session

4:13 p.m.

NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers answered the committee’s questions in a closed setting on Monday evening, Burr said.

Rogers was criticized by lawmakers on the committee for dodging a number of questions related to the Russia investigation at a recent open hearing.

According to the Washington Post, Trump made an appeal to Rogers and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to publicly deny the existence of evidence of collusion between Trump campaign associates and Moscow, after Comey acknowledged the existence of the FBI investigation.

Neither official has publicly confirmed the report.

Burr said Tuesday that Rogers “spent almost two hours in closed session with almost the full committee” and “thoroughly answered” their questions. "

Remember while Coats couldn't give a reason why he wouldn't talk about it. Rogers said he would talk about it in a closed session. Could it be he has already talked to Meuller and was told he shouldn't say anything about the ongoing case in open session?

Watch to see if trash talk toward Rogers starts coming out from the WH. That seems to be the M.O. of this WH.

Did Comey have other people in the room while talking to dipshit on the phone?

From what I read some of the conversations weren't suspect. But I remember hearing during at least one of the conversations Comey may have had other people in the room. If it was on speaker phone that could be a strong case for Comey.

All the news and too much news

The repugs have been using russiagate as a cover for some of their moves. But dipshit is doing it also. One hidden item in the budget dipshit put out was a "fee" (The repug code word for tax.) on stores who accept food stamps.

"The White House proposal to overhaul the U.S. food stamp program — and the deep cuts it would make to benefits for the poorest households — has sparked public outrage on both sides of the aisle. But there's another change tucked into the proposal that businesses say caught them off guard — and could wind up costing them more than $2 billion.

That provision is a new fee that the White House wants to charge retailers that accept food stamps, which is now known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The Office of Management and Budget said the fee would be assessed when stores sign up and would require renewal after five years. The budget office said the amount would depend on the size and type of retailer, but the president's budget estimates that the fee would generate $2.4 billion in revenue over the next decade."

Trying something different. Making smoked eggs.

Started up my smoker this morning and was thinking since I had a couple extra racks I'd try to figure out something else to try. For some reason I thought of eggs. Come to find out it's on the web, of course.

Anyways they are in the smoker right now. Hopefully they will turn out okay.

The Russians and state secessionist movements

Recently we have had California and Alaska secessionist movements tied to russia. But how many more of the secessionist movements are tied to russia?

Article from the Texas Monthly

"The story gets stranger. According to the Times, Alexander Ionov—the aforementioned crocodile-shoe wearing leader of the small anti-American group that organized the conference—said that the Russian government chipped in with a “grant” of $55,000 to pay for the conference at a swanky hotel close to the Kremlin, and the rest of the money came from private donors from “Texas and other countries.” As the Times notes, Western leaders have long suspected Russian President Vladimir Putin’s administration supports separatist and far-right ultranationalist movements throughout Europe, so it’s no surprise that Russia would welcome the opportunity for a Texit to potentially destabilize the U.S., even though such a move is pretty much impossible. Still, it’s fascinating to think that the Texas independence movement has drawn the attention of Russia."
