The Lambda variant belongs to the C.37 lineage, which has been newly designated as a VOI on June 14, 2021, by WHO. This variant is predominantly spreading in South American countries that include Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Ecuador. According to the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) database, the Lambda variant has been reported in 26 countries worldwide.
The rate of vaccination has been notably high in Chile. A recent study conducted in Chile has shown that around 60% of the population have received at least a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Recently, during the spring of 2021, a rapid surge in COVID-19 cases was observed in Chile. This is because the Lambda variant is capable of escaping the immune responses induced via vaccination.

As Bauer and William Blauser Jr. fight the charges in court, many in the town of Kane have struggled to comprehend how two of their neighbors could be among the hundreds of Trump loyalists bent on overturning the election that day.

Yet another supporter of former President Donald Trump has been charged for their role in the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Glenn Allen Brooks of Huntington Beach, California has been charged with disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, along with disorderly conduct and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.
In the criminal complaint against Brooks, the FBI explained how he was identified.
"On or about January 30, 2021, the FBI received an electronic tip from Witness #1, who stated that a member of his/her church prayer text group, Glenn Brooks, boasted of his active participation in the January 6, 2021, events at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Witness #1 also stated that Brooks sent photos of his attendance at the Capitol to the church text group that included other people at the riots/protest and a selfie photo of himself inside the Capitol," an FBI special agent attested.

Donald Smith was charged with illegally entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly or destructive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and parading, picketing or demonstrating in a Capitol building on Wednesday.
A witness anonymously contacted the FBI on January 9 to inform the agency that Smith was one of the rioters and had been openly bragging about his exploits. A tip that the FBI received days later, from a person who said they were the alleged rioter's coworker, indicated that Smith had shared presumably doctored videos and photos of himself and others "storming the white house" while bragging about being inside Pelosi's office.
"I work with a man who showed up with pictures and video of him and others storming the white house," the witness said, according to the criminal complaint. "He says he was in Nancy Pelosis office and that it was the best day of his life."

Between the RWNJ not getting vaxxed and even normal people getting the vaccine, it seems there is no end in site.
Some of the research – which the CDC is expected to make public today – may be related in part to an outbreak in Provincetown, Mass., where Fourth of July festivities have led to 882 cases as of Thursday. Nearly three-quarters of those people were fully vaccinated.

The 38-year-old defendant, Daniel Christmann, posted photos and videos from inside the Capitol that day on his Instagram account, which has the handle “dannyforsenate,” according to a filing in Brooklyn federal court. Two people tipped off authorities about those Instagram posts, that filing said.
Surveillance video images show Christmann outside and inside the Capitol as well, the filing revealed.
In one such image, Christmann is seen “speaking or shouting” while standing in a crowd outside the Capitol in front of law-enforcement officers lined up to prevent people in the mob from getting inside, the filing said.
The FBI identified Christmann from the crowd photos by comparing the images of him with his Instagram account and a New York Police Department booking photo for his Aug. 14, 2020, arrest on charges of criminal mischief, making graffiti, and possession of graffiti instruments.

The complaint claims that Davis can be seen charging "up the West Front Terrace stairs" of the Capitol building and "toward the Officers wielding the large stick/pole like a baseball bat in a pose consistent with a person preparing to strike with the object."
The footage cited in the complaint also shows Davis "pushing and screaming" at a police officer, and also "pushing the officers hands down" as they try to stop him from advancing toward the building.
