Jim Dandy's JournalChafed Neo-Nazi Richard Spencer Thinks University of Florida Students Were Mean to Him
He truly is the darling of the alt-right. But when chanting University of Florida students shut down his speech there last week, Neo-Nazi Richard Spencer couldn't wail loudly enough about how mean they all were, even depriving him of his freedom of speech. That said, I would like to take a brief moment to inform poor Mr. Spencer that his mistreatment in Gainesville is minor when compared with the way Americans used to deal with Nazis. The picture below being a good example of that.
Bob Corker says White House is 'adult day care center' after Trump Twitter hit
From The Guardian:
After Donald Trump issued a fierce Twitter rebuke of Bob Corker, the retiring Republican senator tweeted back: Its a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.
The exchange between the president and the chair of the Senate foreign relations committee was the latest undignified episode in Trumps bizarre and fractious relationship with the Republican establishment and parts of his own administration. Trumps treatment of secretary of state Rex Tillerson this week prompted remarks from Corker that were seen as critical of the president.

The Hill: Kushner registered in New York as a female voter
Presidential son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is registered as a female voter in New York, according to public records.
Registration records show that when Kushner, who is married to first daughter Ivanka Trump, registered to vote in 2009, he apparently checked a box classifying his gender as a female.
Democratic opposition research group American Bridge first spotted the error, which Wired then reported first.
"Kushner can't even fill out the most basic paperwork without screwing it up, so it's a mystery why anyone thinks he's somehow going to bring peace to the Middle East," Brad Bainum, a spokesperson for the group, told Wired about the mistake. "Would anyone but the president's son-in-law still have a West Wing job after repeated disclosure errors and a botched a security clearance form?"
Kushner, who has a vast portfolio of issues at the White House, has had to amend his federal security clearance forms multiple times to include meetings with foreign contacts.
He told congressional investigators that the mistakes have been due to a miscommunication with his assistant.
Prior to 2009, his New Jersey voter registration noted his gender as unknown.

Steelers to remain in locker room during the national anthem
Source: ESPN
In a sign of solidarity, the Pittsburgh Steelers will remain in the locker room during the national anthem before their 1 p.m. ET kickoff with the Chicago Bears.
More than a dozen players knelt during the national anthem for Sunday's game between the Ravens and Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. It is believed to be in protest of President Donald Trump's recent comments on protests during the anthem.
A team official confirmed the news, which was first reported by CBS' Jamie Erdahl, who spoke to coach Mike Tomlin pregame.
"We're not going to play politics," Tomlin told Erdahl. "We're football players, we're football coaches. We're not participating in the anthem today -- not to be disrespectful to the anthem, but to remove ourselves from the circumstance.
"People shouldn't have to choose. If a guy wants to go about his normal business and participate in the anthem, he shouldn't be forced to choose sides. If a guy feels the need to do something, he shouldn't be separated from his teammate who chooses not to."

Former 'West Wing' star urges people to write 'Harriet Tubman' on $20 bill
Josh Malina, who played a vice presidents chief of staff on the NBC political drama "The West Wing," encouraged his more than 240,000 Twitter followers on Thursday to write the famous abolitionists name on $20 bills.
Malinas Twitter message came on the heels of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchins remark Thursday that the Treasury Department could abandon plans to replace President Andrew Jackson on the front of the $20 bill with abolitionist Harriet Tubman. The redesign had been finalized under President Obama.
Its not something that Im focused on at the moment, Mnuchin told CNBC when asked about the planned change. The issues of why we change it will be primarily related to what we need to do for security purposes.
According to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's website, currency defacement is defined as "whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued."

Nearly 30 million Americans think its okay to have neo-Nazi views
A frightening new poll has found that 9 percent of Americans believe its acceptable to hold white supremacists or neo-Nazi views the equivalent of nearly 30 million people.
The survey, which was conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News, showed that of those 9 percent, a third strongly agreed with the statement, Do you think its acceptable or unacceptable to hold neo-Nazi or white supremacist views?
Overall, 10 percent of respondents described themselves as supporters of the alt-right movement, an attempted rebranding of the white supremacist movement, while 41 percent said they had no opinion on the matter. The survey found that 42 percent thought that Trump had put white supremacists and neo-Nazis on equal standing with those who opposed them.
The poll, which was conducted in the wake of the protests in Charlottesville, also showed that 56 percent of respondents disapproved of Trumps response to the violence that took place that weekend, while 28 percent approved.

Ex-CIA agent raising money to buy Twitter and delete Trump's account
Valerie Plame Wilson, a former CIA agent, is raising money through a GoFundMe page. This is an effort to buy a controlling share of Twitter so she can delete Trumps account.
Wilson formally worked at the CIA from 1985 to 2005 as a covert operations officer. She was forced to resign after a 2003 leak. Her resignation happened once her identity was revealed, which also led to the indictment of Scooter Libby.
Her goal is to reach $1 billion dollars, which would be enough shares to buy a controlling stake in Twitter and boot Trump. As of the 23rd, she has raised almost $5,000.
The GoFundMe page reads, Donald Trump has done a lot of horrible things on Twitter. From emboldening white supremacists to promoting violence against journalists, his tweets damage the country and put people in harms way. But threatening actual nuclear war with North Korea takes it to a dangerous new level.
Valerie started the GoFundMe account because executives at Twitter were refusing to delete Trumps account after ignoring multiple calls to enforce the companys community standards and delete Trumps account.

States listed with most hate groups. Where does California rank?
California ranks No. 1 in the nation with 79 active hate groups, six of which operate in Sacramento area, according to a new report released by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups and extremists in the U.S.
The Southern Poverty Law Center report includes a detailed map of the 917 hate groups actively operating across the United States. Florida ranks second among states, with 63 active hate groups.
In the Sacramento area, the report cited six active hate groups: Golden State Skinheads, a racist skinhead group, the Traditionalist Worker Party, a white nationalist group, the Pacific Justice Institute and Verity Baptist Church, both anti-LGBT groups, and As-Sabiqun and European-American Evangelistic Crusades, general hate groups.
In June 2016, a rally by members of the Traditionalist Worker Party in the shadow of the state Capitol devolved into violence when members clashed with Antifa, or anti-fascist demonstrators. Ten people were injured, with at least five stabbed in the violent confrontation.
William Planer, a member of the Traditionalist Worker Party, was arrested in July in Colorado for his role in the riot and is awaiting a California court appearance.
A Berkeley teacher and activist who was arrested with two others in June 2016 bloody clash between neo-Nazis and anti-fascist counter-demonstrators faced a Sacramento judge Thursday for the first time on assault charges in the case.

The DOJ Wants the IP Addresses of All Visitors to Anti-Trump Website
Source: Law Street Media
On July 17, the Department of Justice issued a search warrant to the website hosting company DreamHost in order to gain access to the IP addresses of people who visited www.disruptj20.org. The website coordinated protests of Donald Trumps inauguration on January 20.
On Monday, DreamHost made the warrant public, as it plans to challenge the DOJ in court. Privacy advocates call the governments request an unconstitutional fishing expedition, looking for people who are critical of the president. The warrant requested access to the website founders information, as well as the IP addresses of about 1.3 million people who visited it.
Now people are outraged that the government is targeting people visiting a website that is critical of the president, which is not a crime. This specific case and this specific warrant are pure prosecutorial overreach by a highly politicized department of justice under [Attorney General Jeff] Sessions, said Chris Ghazarian, general counsel for DreamHost.
The people behind DreamHost are determined to fight the warrant in court. Ghazarian said they are the gatekeepers between the government and all the people visiting the website: We want to keep them protected.
