I watch this last night, and I wanted to write a review right away, I was so impressed by it. However, I also wanted to ponder a bit first, so here's my take on it now, after having a sleep on it.
First, I will watch anything with Morgan Freemen. I have never been steered wrong by his choice of scripts. This continues in this project. Morgan plays a quality role as a widowed grandfather raising a teenage granddaughter after the tragic loss of her parents. Other notables in this include Molly Shannon, who often plays quirky characters. She fits the bill in this, playing the frustrated mom of a young lady with some real problems.
This is a story about several families who are connected by a number of different social reasons. There are issues of chemical dependencies, tragic loss and the possibility of recovery. The characters are all of different races, and there are no racial dynamics here- that just isn't a factor in this story. The interactions are all based on normal relationships like dating, being married, having children, dependency issues, and the difficulties of being parents in today's world. There are lots of views on both sides about forgiveness and recovery. To me, it was a very realistic, quality view of the world that I have seen. Worth every bit of time from beginning to end. Two hours and 19 minutes in length.
The latest DU4 change isn't good
I have loved the DU4 changes since it all began in beta testing. But the latest change for mobile is no bueno. It looks like the idea is to stripe alternating posts with black/white backgrounds when in dark mode. I never use the light background, so I don't know how that one looks. The problem is that the alternating posts all come up as white lettering on a white background. I can see this on my phone, or on my desktop if I make my browser app narrow enough to go to the single column layout.

Trolling AT&T
The Mrs and I got new phones this week, and I needed to activate them. Should have been easy- right?
Well, we went to the local AT&T store where the lone employee stopped his tik-tok surf long enough to tell us that because we bought our devices from the web site and not this store, company policy forbid him from helping us. Nice. Company policy totally blows chunks. So we went home and I started the upgrade on her phone.
After many hours, I got all the data transferred from our old devices to the new ones and I even got my new phone to activate. However, her phone refused to activate. After spending 2 1/2 hours (yes!) on the phone with four different levels of tech support, they finally got her phone to work. At one point I was tired enough of the requests to power cycle the device that I mentioned perhaps the issue could be fixed if she restarted the entire data center at headquarters. She laughed, appreciating my humor.
Goodbye to Clannad
I just left Clannad's concert here in Seattle. It was their closing show for their final tour. It was a great time, many wonderful songs, lots of fun variations on old favorites.
I have no songs to share, just great memories.
Anyone enjoying "The Witcher" season 3?
I've become rather disenchanted with the series because Season 3 is so filled with "castle intrigue" that it has become boring. The occasionally inventive monsters that randomly show up aren't even that great because the scenes are too short and safe. No wonder the principal actor is leaving- this is as boring as Masterpiece Theater.
Tell me it gets better...
Invasion on Apple TV - anyone watched both seasons yet?
I just started this series, not sure yet, but it is interesting. Only 2 episodes so far. Does it get more interesting?

I just closed all of my accounts on Twitter. Too much nonsense and not enough positivity.
My amusement in torturing conservatives was not worth it any longer. Now they are down several more viewers, and I will regain some email sanity.
As one of my British friends once said "Too many twits make a twat".

Get it while you can - stem cell treatment
Mrs RC has a bum knee and I'm pushing her to try stem cell treatment before the RWNJs ban that too. It seems like anything beneficial to humans must be banned.
