About Me

Don't take what I say too seriously...I'm a dumb-ass.

Make noise...

We think we're so clever and classless and free

Because sometimes it takes a Canadian to help me remember I love America...

TURN IT UP LOUD for best results.

I had access to nuclear weapons technical publications as part of my job in the Navy.

I had to participate in a program designed to ensure the reliability of personnel with access to nuclear weapons technical data...things like psychiatric evaluations, etc. I also was assigned to a security team that protected those weapons and data in case of threat. I took it pretty seriously at the time.

A celebration

Synopsis: HALLELUJAH: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song is a definitive exploration of singersongwriter Leonard Cohen as seen through the prism of his internationally renowned hymn, “Hallelujah.” This feature-length documentary weaves together three creative strands: The songwriter and his times; the song’s dramatic journey from record label reject to chart-topping hit; and moving testimonies from major recording artists for whom “Hallelujah” has become a personal touchstone. Approved for production by Leonard Cohen just before his 80th birthday in 2014, the film accesses a wealth of never-before-seen archival materials from the Cohen Trust including Cohen’s personal notebooks, journals and photographs, performance footage, and extremely rare audio recordings and interviews.

Fish or cut bait...the time for a decision approaches.

"I don't f-ng care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me. Take the f-ng mags away."

Game over. Anything less than a conviction for obstruction would be dereliction.

On this day in 1944...

“Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have
striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The
hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you.
In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on
other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war
machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of
Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well
equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of
1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats,
in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their
strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home
Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions
of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men.
The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to
Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage and devotion to duty and skill in
battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great
and noble undertaking.”

Some of us grew up listening to Bob Dylan...the cool ones still do.
