His focus on climate issues, his distinctive and progressive legislative record, his smart stewardship as governor, his plain-spoken but hard-hitting style - wow! I did not know of him before 2018.
I will encourage others to consider him as well. He would win the general in a walk.

A young woman of color who took on an established Democrat and won, energized Democrats across the country with her savvy use of social media, regularly pushes back against the racist Republican smear machine, advocates landmark action on the biggest issue of her time in a way that previous Congresses have not done, used the Cohen hearings to prepare the case against the president...all in 2 months of serving in Congress.
By all means, let's talk about her ego. That's so important, right? Such a terrible flaw in Washington.
Seriously, find a new talking point.

They become the standard bearer for the most popular of two national parties.
All it takes from there is an inspiring campaign and tireless focus from Democratic grass roots supporters nationwide.
Let the best candidate earn the nom and we'll win this pivotal election. The right mix of policy and personality will emerge from an open and rigorous primary season. Let's dominate the news cycle with the quality and quantity of our candidates and our bold ideas to address pressing problems.

He has limited officeholder experience compared to many in the field, and he lost his last run for office.
Does he have key issues that are his passion?
A candidate is needed that can win and that will govern effectively. I hope all the candidates make their case in both areas.
