I'm speculating that they told him they won't uphold a full-on mifepristone prohibition, so he's looking to punt in such a way that doesn't get him reversed but also not lynched by forced-birthers.
I think I'll start a spinoff to the "Pro-Life" movement.
I'll call it "Pro-Fatherhood."
The central principle is this: every man will be legally required to contribute financially to every child he has ever sired, full stop. Since life "begins at fertilization", that implies that every man will be retroactively billed for expenses incurred by a woman in pregnancy before the child is tested to know that it is his.
Be a big hit, dontcha think?
I think it's likely the R House members demanding terms for raising the debt ceiling...
...is a smoke screen. I think it's more likely they plan to block any increase in the debt ceiling and thereby drive America's economy (and the world's) right off a cliff.
Much more effective than lighting the Reichstag on fire.
Before Boebert, Greene, Gaetz, et al. threaten to default on the debt...
...and give the world economy a multi-trillion dollar haircut and make a whole lot of wealthy people throughout the world a lot less wealthy, they might contemplate the fate of Jamal Khashoggi,who was just a journalist saying stuff.
Important to remember that an American debt default will cause a WORLDWIDE crisis.
What do you suppose the other countries will do after we totally eff their economies?
If the Republican Party is this broken, maybe it's time that some R's switch parties.
Enough to hand control back to the D's.

...individual Senate or House races or control of the Senate or House. You could at one time bet on Trump being indicted before 9/1/2022. Obviously, that market is settled. I can't seem to find any market trading in Trump being indicted any time in the future. It's almost like no one takes the possibility seriously.

Is it true that Nancy Pelosi remains Speaker until a new one is elected?
So, would it be true if hypothetically speaking, the R's have a tiny majority in the House, but can't unify behind one candidate and keep kicking the can down the road until they find a way somehow, Nancy remains Speaker the whole time?
