Putin: Nobody believed Trump would win 'except us'http://thehill.com/policy/international/russia/311613-putin-nobody-believed-trump-would-win-except-us
Russian president Vladimir Putin on Friday lauded President-elect Donald Trump for his win, insisting it was no surprise.
Right up to the end, nobody believed he would win except us," Putin said at his annual marathon press conference.
He credited Trumps victory to his ability to read the mood of the country.
Trump precisely felt the mood of the society and worked in the precise paradigm, Putin said, according to Agence France Presse.
Putin also acknowledged his own support among Republican voters in the U.S.
I dont put it down to me, the fact that a large part of Republican voters support the Russian president, he said. It means that a large part of the American people have the same idea of how the world should be, of our common dangers and problems.
A CIA report reportedy concluded that Russia deliberately interfered with the 2016 presidential election in order to help Trump win, in an assessment backed by the FBI.
In another report, members of the intelligence community told NBC that Putin himself was personally involved in Russias hacking of the election.
Putin has denied Russian interference in the election.
Barf-O-Meter Alert! Newt retracts his "Swamp Report"
https://twitter.com/newtgingrich/status/811980472079237121I goofed. Draining the swamp is in, @realDonaldTrump is going to do it, and the alligators should be worried. #DTS http://bit.ly/2i5QMjZ
Donald Trump is making the swamp about a hundred times swampier
A great piece today in The Week. One quote that caught my eye: For many party loyalists, all that rabble-rousing at rallies was just for the rubes, something Trump would tell the common folk so they'd get out to vote. The savvy ones know that no president is going to come in and truly change the character of institutions and arrangements that have persisted for decade upon decade.

Hard to believe, but its true....
The German Fascists (aka Nazis) learned a lot about their dirty business from us here in the states.
It is well documented that Hitlers cabal modeled their eugenics, propaganda and race segregation tactics after what they saw here. There are may well written pieces on the subject, just to cite a few:

So now were beginning to truly understand that there is really only a paper thin disguise occluding the torrent of racism thats still alive in this country. And its all coalescing around Donald tRump and his regime.
All the warnings and cautions about the consequences of a tRump presidency went unheeded by the GOP nominators and millions of voters. Excuses were manufactured for his world-view, behavior and radical ideas in enough of the press and by his propaganda machine to make him seem more normal.
And of course the string-puppets in our Ship-of-Fools known as Congress, continued with their complete abandonment of the interests of we-the-people. Because God knows they had to be the guardians of corporate profits, manipulators of the economy and executors of their own re-elections. As the old saying goes, its easy to tell when a Congressman is lying to you
his lips are moving.
Trumps brand of Fascism probably wont manifest itself in such the way that Adolphs did. No, the rats have evolved significantly since those days. Besides, tRump has a lot more to lose financially than dumb-shit Adolph ever did.
While we may suffer our own Kristallnacht in some fashion, were more likely to see hate and intolerance repackaged into a mockery of helpful programs, friendly judicial appointments and Evangelical Christian Morals being taught in our schools, just to name a few.
We must remain vigilant and not allow ourselves to sleep though a tRump takeover of America. But instead, keep pointing out at every opportunity and to a wide audience, the intolerance, hatefulness and lies that spew from this Golem of a pseudo-president; letting him and his cabal know that we are not taken in by their propaganda and phony promises.
Majority Want Mondays Electoral College Vote Postponed In Wake Of Russia Scandal: New Poll

From the Huffington Post: A majority of American voters favor delaying the Electoral College vote scheduled for Monday until electors can be fully briefed on Russian interference in the election, according to a new poll conducted by YouGov.
The survey, sponsored by the progressive advocacy group Avaaz, found 52 percent of people supportive of stalling the vote.
A surprisingly high number of people ― 46 percent ― were also willing to support so-called faithless electors, the name given to members of the Electoral College who spurn the vote of their home state and vote for a different candidate instead.
President-elect Donald Trumps opponents have been pressuring electors to break with their states voters, and a law firm has even offered pro bono, confidential legal advice to any elector curious about his or her options. Avaaz has collected thousands of signatures on a petition calling for the vote to be delayed.
Trump won a fairly wide Electoral College victory on Election Day, but Hillary Clinton is on pace to beat him in the popular vote by some 3 million. In a sign of how divided the country is, however, more than 1 in 4 Republicans believe that Trump in fact bested Clinton in the popular vote. That belief may stem from a false claim Trump himself made on Twitter, when he said that he would have won the popular vote had millions of people not voted illegally. That came after a separate claim from Trump, in which he said he could have won the popular vote if he had wanted to, by campaigning in highly populated states like California and New York.
Some states mandate that electors vote the way their state instructs, but the 10th Circuit Court ruled late on Friday that such laws are unconstitutional. The court covers the region of Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Utah and Wyoming.
Only one elector has publicly said he will be breaking from Trump.
The Only Enemies Donald Trump Can See Are His Fellow Americans
