Trump's "Unified" America

Trump had a press conference 2/16, and one of his statements revealed a lot about what he thinks of people who don’t support him. Among the many outrageous things he said (such as: the leaks coming from his Administration are real, but the news stories about the leaks are fake, and telling an African American reporter to set up a conference between himself and the Congressional Black Caucus, because hey, don’t all black people know each other?), one thing in particular stood out: what he said about protesters at Republican Town Hall meetings: “They are not the Republican people that our representatives represent.”

Party over Country

Today, the Republicans in the House had a golden opportunity to show the American people that they are more interested in their country than they are in their party. They failed. Miserably. In a vote that came down right along party lines, every Republican member of the House voted against requesting Trump’s tax returns from the IRS. Republicans have shown us, over and over and over again, that they are more interested in their party than they are in their country. Please click the link below to read more.

Poof! You are banned from entering the US via Executive Order

The Executive Order he signed was done from a place of cowardice, fear, and weakness. Only cowards use what power they have to control others. Only the fearful use what courage they have to harm others. Only the weak use what strength they have to demean others. Only “snowflakes” are so afraid of melting that they kick others off the ice.

Is this seriously what the Republicans wanted re the ACA repeal?

It blows my mind what the Republicans voted to repeal with regards to the ACA - i.e. all of it, even the popular provisions like insurance companies having to take you even with a pre-existing condition and keeping your kids on your insurance plan until they are 26.

Please click the link below to the article that lays out everything they voted for repealing.

The week of 1/1/17 - 1/8/17

Please click below for a roundup of all the things the Republican led Congress has done this week.

Elaine Chao - pick for Secretary of Transportation

Elaine Chao was an odd pick for Donald Trump for Secretary of Transportation. Below is an article about why I think she was chosen - and it does have to do with Mitch McConnell being her husband.

Republicans and their Benghazi B.S.

The Republicans went on, ad nauseam, about Benghazi during the election. Now 3 senators, 2 of whom are Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, have introduced a bill to cut embassy security by 50% if the US doesn't move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem...their hypocrisy knows no bounds...

The Cult of Trump

The more I think about it, the more it seems to me that many of Trump's followers exhibit cultish tendencies and Trump himself seems like a cult leader. I thought it would be interesting to see what the experts say and see if there are instances that exemplify this behavior. This is what I found. It's a long read, but well worth it.

Trump and his hiring American Hypocrisy

“Make America Great Again!” The slogan so many people fell for from Donald Trump.

“You have to bring in jobs, you have to take the jobs back from China, you have to take back the jobs from Mexico” he said in a June 2015 CNN interview.

Reality is a bit different. And by a bit, I mean drastically.
