Any American who has a problem with athletes peacefully protesting systemic racism

by kneeling during the national anthem should ask themselves exactly what kind of protest they would find acceptable. Please tell us what would be OK with you.

How you deal with them is to remove their fear, you make them unafraid of education

Fear is what moves men. The fear of going to "hell" for your "sins" was inculcated into these people long ago as the ultimate means of control, along with a sham set of "morals" by which they can compare each others degree of fault. You're right, you can't disagree with the adopted values of of a bunch of people without them getting pissed off at you, because they have tied their whole lives to this screwy idea and when you attempt to point out that for you personally (just you, not them) that this idea is screwy, you get serious backlash, because as far as they are concerned you are telling them their lives mean nothing, and this bothers them, because people prefer anything to being nothing. Just look at the Nazis.

Let's just ignore this piss-ant Trump

and stop watching "Pathocracy Today," all day, every day. He's not the only show in town, although his vile repulsive filth serves to mesmerize us as he pulls aside the curtain of despotism while the corporate masters behind the throne advance their death-worshiping agenda for the world. And while we're at it, why not try to nullify all of these rampant psychopaths whose goal it is to consume our lives and our planet, and who will dispose of Trump themselves when he becomes unable to serve their purpose, so we can work to create a civilization that serves life instead of death.

So who is responsible for their education?

Time and again, I see the focus groups who support Trump say that he is what they want precisely because they are sick and tired of suave and polish. They say they've had that and didn't get any benefit from it. They make their simplistic arguments because they don't know any other argument to make. If they don't value education and sophistication, it is because they can't understand what good it would do them, and they have been actively harmed by those things, at least in their own minds. Is there some reason that we who call ourselves the party of inclusion can't make any effort to show these people what the benefits of reading books, a college education, or having an open mind with which to explore new ideas can be a good thing? They fear what they don't understand, so maybe we should try to help them understand without prejudice, rather than simply dismissing them as useless. When we ignore them as being useless, we show ourselves to be hypocritical to our own values rather than of being willing to embrace and practice them.

Aphorism: On Patriotism, by Madison S. Hughes

Patriotism is a form of false pride for those who have nothing of their own of which they can be proud. it is little more than a tribal characteristic of banal instinct that provides a gratifying sensation of self worth.

How can one be proud of being born within a particular geographical area of which they had absolutely no input? Clearly, reflective thought is not a part of this end. Reflective thought would require one to objectively evaluate the actions of their country, and the effect those actions have on them and the world as a whole. If one were to honestly do so. one, as I, would realize a great desire to expatriate to a less religious, more equitable country as one would find in Scandinavia and Western Europe.

In contemporary America, the Tea-Baggers base their definition of what it is to be an American on geography and ignorance. They are not cosmopolitan by any stretch of the imagination, nor do they show any sign of cultural curiosity. They are simply demonstrating territorial instinct, as do others with similar cerebral deficits.

Patriotism to one's country is understood, and need not be expressed. If one feels inclined to overtly express such, then one is expressing nationalism, not patriotism.

Yeah that nuance escapes them, and it's something I would appreciate,

I get tired of hearing the same shit over and over again, but the original meaning of the acronym for reporting events was to designate happenings from north, east, west, and south.
