whose career I have followed since the late seventies when he first came to my attention. Trump doesn't care about anyone or anybody or anything (least of all your jobs or the country) except himself. He never has and he never will.
THE ONLY THING TRUMP WANTS IS REVENGE ON EVERYBODY.
One of the biggest problems -- when you tell his supporters what a sack of shit trump is, their response is "THAT'S WHY WE LIKE HIM."
So this is what the rest of us have to deal with. Besides the neo-fascist Bannon/Miller wing of the tea party, using the malevolent adolescent figurehead of trump to destroy the United States of America. This is their stated goal.

bannon mostly (and trump) want to destroy
the career government civil service corps. Bannon especially, because he understands that doing so removes a major check on the executive power. trump only understands it because bannon explained it to him.
The checks and balances provided by the founders that exist within the constitution are the formal ones. The informal check on executive power provided by the career civil service is a result of the evolution of government, and allows for continuity and stability across varying degrees of radicalism or madness that may exist within the executive.
If allowed to continue, this course soon leads to the absence of anyone within government who has the ability to oppose or question policies put forth by the executive. Witness the gag orders already issued for various agencies.
Bannon and his wing of the tea party want to burn down the whole show and remake it in their image. This is their stated goal, which dovetails nicely with today's attack on the media by Bannon, who said "the media should just shut up," and "the media is the opposition party."
what about this gag order for employees
of EPA and HHS? Shouldn't that be some kind of story? Or am I missing something.

What It Means To Be An Economic Nationalist
If you're wealthy, it means you're saying "fuck you" to anyone who works for a living.
If you're a supporter of the Trump economic plan, it means that when these high tariffs close the world's export markets to the United States, import companies like Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Costco, and every other import business that allows you to buy your TV's, phones, tires, clothes, computers, and appliances cheaply will be decimated.
If you're a "dispossessed American worker" who thinks globalism has screwed you, it means your newly minted USA ONLY job will allow you to possibly earn a higher wage, but you won't be able to afford anything you produce because the cost of production will skyrocket beyond whatever you're being paid.
If you're a company that can't sell its products because the export market countries retaliated against the United States for closing their markets, it means you'll have to lay off all of your expensive American workers.
If you're an expensive American worker, it means you'll soon find yourself in a recession ten times worse than the one you just got out of.
If you're an export market country, it means in order to prevent your own workers from revolting, you'll have to start a trade war by flooding some area like Latin America with your goods, which further contracts American companies' already weakened ability to compete, and usually leads to a real shooting war.
If you're an "economic nationalist," of course, you already knew all this.
Hi everyone. I wanted to do this by way of introduction, I felt it was an important perspective that doesn't get enough attention due to its less than spectacular nature (economics being known as "the dismal science."
I am not an economist, I am simply alarmed and worried, as I think most of you are, by what is happening. I have taken strength and inspiration to post my views from many of you who share these concerns, and I appreciate your diverse opinions and insights.

It has been said that the failures of the clandestine services are known, but its successes are unknown. The stars on the Wall Of Honor memorialize those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our liberty, and many of them represent successes.
I spent many years in the service of our country. During that time, myself and the men I worked with depended daily on information from the intelligence services to do our jobs. That information, provided at great cost, is a vital component of our ability to maintain freedom.
Yes, there have been abuses. Yes, there have been embarrassments. And yes, there have been tragedies. Hopefully, we learn valuable lessons from these errors, and move on, always trying to do better.

they all have jobs and had to work. That's the excuse they're using. If that's the case, then
1) what do they need trump for? I thought all his supporters were the "forgotten Americans" who can't get work because of globalization and bad trade deals.
2) When I was stationed in Washington D.C., even the Navy gave us the day off to attend if we didn't have duty that day.
3) Very first WH briefing; Spicer apoplectic, says it's the largest inaugural crowd ever, trump estimate is right, everyone else is wrong. What a surprise.

Everyone should read the Mother Jones background article published yesterday. These people are truly dangerous. They believe trump is the most likely person "to bring Jesus into the world."
Just one more thought
and this may be sophistry or just purely illogical, but it strikes me as odd that conservatives oppose abortion, but if you turn out to be a criminal they will gladly put you to death.
