For those DUers that want to criticize Bernie and others for not helping Ossoff,...

He wasn't the only Democrat in the race.

Maybe they wanted to wait until this first election was over, and it was down to one D vs. one R, before helping any one candidate.

Just wanted to put that out there in case some didn't realize that there were other Democrats in the race.

I saw all of the nominees for best picture of 2016

Here is how I rated them (0 to 10).

Moonlight - 8.5
Loved this film because of acting, story, and directing, but slightly disappointed because I expected so much after all of the hype. Highly recommend.

Arrival - 7.5
Best sci-fi movie of the year. Liked Amy Adams as main character, but found Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker to be exceptional. Recommend.

Hell or High Water - 8.5
Jeff Bridges was great. Highly recommend.

Hacksaw Ridge - 8.5
Very graphic WWII movie with a good story. Mel Gibson is a really good director for these types of movies. Highly recommend if you're okay with war combat.

Fences - 7.5
Great acting but I found it to be too long. Story was just ok. Don't recommend.

Hidden Figures - 7.0
I found this movie to be very average, meaning I've seen this kind of period movie many times. The story was inspiring but it really wasn't one of my favorites. Recommend.

La La Land - 6.0
I like musicals and love stories but I never got into this one. I have no idea why there so much hype for this movie. Obviously I'm in the minority. I thought the singing and dancing were terrible. Don't recommend.

Lion - 9.0
I loved this one. The acting, the scenery, how it was shoot was all brilliant. It got a little slow in the middle, but this simple story was just heart warming. Highly recommend.

Manchester by the Sea - 9.0
Incredibly sad but highly entertaining and beautifully acted. Highly recommend.

Here are my picks for the awards.

Best Picture
Moonlight - Not my highest rated movie but it's the only one I want to watch again.

Actor in a leading role
Casey Affleck (Did not see Captain Fantastic so could be Viggo)

Actress in a leading role
Not sure as Emma Stone is the only one I saw and I didn't think she was very good in La La Land.

Actor in a supporting role
Michael Shannon - This one wasn't even close. He was brilliant in Nocturnal Animals.

Actress in a supporting role
Viola Davis, Naomie Harris, and Nicole Kidman were all great, but I'd probably have to give it to Naomie Harris.

Other movies of 2016 I've seen recently

10 Cloverfield Lane - 7.5
Silence - 7.5
The Lobster - 7.5
War Dogs - 7.0
The Girl on the Train - 7.0
Passengers - 8.0

Why is the attitude towards Bernie, 'stay out of the way if you're not going to join the party',..

Instead of, 'you vote with the D's as much as anyone so why don't you help start winning again'?

Especially when the party needs many supporters of Bernie's movement to vote for D's in the future.

I think it's funny that yesterday a lot of people were hopeful that Perez made Ellison Deputy chair of the party to bring people together, when a lot of the people that wanted Ellison as the head of the DNC really have no interest in the Democratic party. They are Independents that think the two party has failed them. Uniting means nothing for these people because they are only interested in a movement that gets rid of the status quo. They are not interested in being brought into a system that they see as a failure unless the party starts to change for what they see as the greater good.

And, throwing a bone to Ellison will mean nothing to them.

I'm not saying I agree with them, or that a lot of them aren't wrong with their messaging. I'm just saying that these people, and there are a lot of them, are not interested in party unity because they're not interested in the party at all. They have moved on from the two-party system and are only interested in what they perceive as real change.

The Democrats don't have to change because of these people. It's there choice. But, if they want to start winning again they need to recognize that the outcome of yesterday will not help at all.

I know and work with a lot of these people (many that are under 35) so I here much of what I wrote above quite a bit.

Yesterday in Atlanta it felt like a mild Summer day.

Not Spring...SUMMER.

People were wearing short-shorts and light t-shirts. The outdoor seating at restaurants were packed last night. People were running, walking, and biking everywhere.

It's February 24th and so far we have missed the entire winter season.

I've lived in Atlanta since the early 90's and, although it's not the North, the winters here are typically in the 30's to 50's. On an average day the low would be around 35 and the high would be not much more than 50. Everyone would need coats and most people stayed inside the entire day. And, this would last from the beginning of November until the middle of March. But, not his year.

I have worn at least a light jacket no more than 7 times this entire season. I usually wear one everyday for 3-4 months.

This is not normal folks. How anyone can deny climate change after going through seasonal changes/temperatures like this is a really sick person.

Have a nice day!

So, what's the consensus on DU? Impeachment or not?

I personally would rather Trump continue to embarrass himself and his party. I think it will only make it easier for progressives and the Democrats to win in every race for the next four years.

IMO, I think Pence would be harder to beat.

Bowling Green University is in Northern Ohio. It's not anywhere near Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Which is in the southern part of the state.

We really shouldn't be using BGSU falcons football team to make fun of someone that isn't being truthful.

Just my opinion.

Anyone here heard of Justice Democrats?

If yes, what do think of their platform? I like most, but not all of it. I signed up but I'm not sure they will get anywhere with it.
