I know this is well after the anniversary, but I have a question I've never seen addressed re: the JFK assassination.

This regards a glaring inconsistency that I've never understood and I've never seen addressed.

One bullet goes through two bodies, shattering multiple bones, leaving seven open wounds. It survives all this and is left virtually pristine.

Another bullet encounters a skull bone. And it simply explodes.

Can someone explain to me how the same bullet and the same rifle can produce such different results when hitting flesh and bone.

I'm beginning to think Trumpism may die when he dies.

His candidates lose. His beliefs are abhorrent to most Americans. He carries no torch or mantle to pass on and if he did he has no one to pass it to. I'm pretty sure most of the players in his own party hate him. Those that praise him aren't going to be on the scene much longer. His cult is not growing or gaining new followers. After he loses in 2024, and after that when he dies, I think most of America will react with a sigh of relief.

As I remember 2011, when President Obama was surely going to lose his re-election,

many Democrats at that time were running away from him. I remember how angry I was that it seemed barely any Dems had his back or were pulling for him. And I remember thinking after the election what a lopsided victory it could have been had the Dems rallied behind him.

Maybe I'm remembering wrongly, but if not then all Dems now needed to back Joe Biden loudly and proudly if he is to win in 2024.

I still believe something I believed four years ago.

Joe Biden is the only Democrat out there who can beat Donald Trump in the coming Presidential election.

It seems to me that, when a Dem Prez is at 50% approval, it really means

that about three quarters of normal people like him.

35% of America is crazy, ignorant or both. They will never approve of a Democratic President. They will never accept him as legitimate.

That is one hell of a handicap.

President Biden is popular with the not crazy and/or ignorant. That's what a 50% approval tells me.

First it was a rat, now I have a cat living in my home.

While talking with a friend in my home town she noticed something black and white in a gravely field across the street. Maybe a cat. Maybe a skunk. Maybe nothing. It didn't move the entire time we talked. By the time we parted we came to believe it was not an animal because it didn't move at all. This was about nine in the morning.

I was out for the day and I got home about 5:30. The black and white thing was still there. I sensed movement and realized it was a cat. I thought for sure that it was injured, having not moved for so long. I immediately called the vet but found they were closing too soon to get to them.

I approached the cat slowly. It stayed there and turned its gaze my way. I steeled myself for the worst, expecting to find an injured cat that had been hit by a car. But when I got to the kitten, it was OK. No injury. It stood up and rubbed against me. I looked it over good. A little dirty, but that was all. It was a female kitten. Her ears were clean. The pads on her feet were soft and pink.

Someone had apparently abandoned her.

Now she's home with me.

I have a sad update on Marcy the Hero Rat

While in surgery for removal of her injured eye I got a phone call from the vet. It seems she had an old injury to her jaw that displaced the angle of her bottom teeth. If you know anything about rodents, then you know why this is ultimately fatal. While she had a good final few weeks in my care, she would be facing a slow and agonizing death if she were left with that condition. It was not repairable. She was euthanized while she was under. She felt no pain.

Thank you all for the donations to her care and all the well wishes Marcy and I received. It did not go to waste. She really was enjoying her new home, kind of a hospice for her. She was never in pain and she was very active with her toys and with me.

The cost for her care was more than I expected, so the donations were more appreciated than I can adequately convey.

Thank you and God bless.

Marcy the Hero Rat has had a setback.

In the time between making her appointment and seeing the Vet she has developed an infection. She's been prescribed some heavy duty (and very expensive) antibiotics and her surgery is postponed until next Monday. I didn't want to, but I'm asking again for any help we can get. Thank you my DU community for all that you've done so far.

The goal I've set is not even close to the price for saving Marcy, but the Vet said she has no chance without the surgery.

Bless you all.

I will only say THANK YOU! to my DU community. Marcy thanks you, too.

You came through for both of us.
