Ex-Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky to be resentenced next month in molestation case

HARRISBURG Jerry Sandusky will be taken from prison to Central Pennsylvania courtroom next month for resentencing on his 45-count child sexual abuse conviction, six months after a state appeals court ruled mandatory minimums had been improperly applied.

Judge John Foradora filed an order Wednesday scheduling the proceeding for Sept. 23 in the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte, Pa.

Judge Foradora also directed the county sheriff to arrange for the 75-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach to be transported to the hearing from his cell in the State Correctional Institution at Laurel Highlands.

Sandusky had been sentenced to 30 to 60 years for child molestation.

The state Supreme Court last month declined to grant him a chance to argue he deserves a new trial.

Sandusky was convicted of the sexual abuse of 10 boys.

Short article - no more at link.

There's an ugly pic of Sandusky, but I won't post it here. You can thank me later.

Recommending Jim Acosta's book "The Enemy of the People"

I'm still in the middle of this book but I'm quite impressed with Jim Acosta, chief White House correspondent for CNN. Many background stories about Chump (and the other White House idiots), during the campaign and in the first 2 years as POTUS. Definitely a good read, but prepare yourself to stay angry about all the shenanigans he writes about. Acosta is a great reporter, tells riveting stories but never reveals his sources unless they agree to speak on the record.

Unlike Michael Wolff, Acosta repeats no gossip (in my opinion), just real news but stuff we might have missed. In the very first chapter Acosta reveals that his father emigrated from Cuba as an 11-year-old boy back in the 1960s. So naturally Jim feels empathy for immigrants, the separated families, and the DACA crisis that the Chump administration has created. However this book is about much more than immigration, it's really about Chump's war on truth and his conspiracy against the American media.
