Anyone here familiar with Washington DC?

I hope this is where I can ask this question. My daughter and I are trying to plan a trip to DC to participate in the Women’s March. She’s looking at flights into Reagan Intl - we’ll be there 1/18-1/20. I’m wondering about hotels - if there are areas we should avoid for safety reasons etc. I know absolutely nothing about the DC area. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks!

Trumpy Bear

Holy cow I think I’m going to be sick. Just saw a commercial on TV Land for “Trumpy Bear” -a teddy bear that has hair and eyebrows like trump. It’s stuffed with a throw blanket that’s a replica of our flag. An older lady putting the blanket over her legs, a vet biker on his Harley with the bear riding in front of him, and a yuppie dude riding with it in his golf cart are the spokesjokes. I kept asking Mr. Alliepoo if the ad was a joke or a spoof. Sadly it wasn’t. Completely surreal. Holy cow. I guess I won’t be watching Andy Griffith any more. I can’t take seeing that commercial again.

Not sure where to ask this question-

Has anyone heard anything about a new gun bill with mental health provisions? I haven’t but my daughter is having a fb discussion (with the usual “lib” slurs thrown at her) with a rw-er who insists my daughter should educate herself on the new gun bill which has mental health requirements. Told my daughter I hadn’t heard of such a bill but I’d check it out (she’s at the doc with my granddaughter and can’t right now) She’s not one to back down! I figured this would be the place to ask!! Thanks!

Did I miss something?

Hey everyone!! My daughter is having a FB “discussion” about guns. The rw person she’s conversing (you know, with the lib insults and liberal media etc) with is denigrating her for not knowing that the “new gun bill” requires a mental heath evaluation. Soooo- did I miss it? Haven’t heard anything about this. Have you? Thanks!!
