A silly little baker's trick I recently learned!

I have been baking bread for most of my adult life.

It is a joy to make, to bake (oh the aroma), and to partake!

It is a pain to clean up the floury mess on utensils, bowl, etc.

I cannot believe I never ran into this little "baker's secret" unitl recently.

While perusing a bread making site, I ran into this tip:

Clean up with cold water!

What???!

My dear mother taught me to clean everything with hot water. Not so much in this case!

I have to tell you, the time this has saved me the past few months makes me laugh, every time I do it now.

Was making a Pullman loaf today, and cleanup was once again so easy, I though that I would share this tidbit.

I don't know what the reason is, maybe hot water gets the gluten super-sticky or something.

Cold water just washes off flour dust like magic, and makes gooey remains wash of easily.

I hope that someone enjoys this time saving fact.

Happy baking!
