K & R - Good points.

And, I don't see us finding many allies in such an effort. After following the Iraqi and Syrian conflicts and the Shia triangle formed as a result, I can't even conceive of the mess a war on Iran would cause for the US and any allies we now have in the Middle East.

Despite that, I wont' be surprised to hear some of the old Bush-era neocons coming out of the woodwork soon.

Maybe someday a miracle will occur...

and some brilliant scientist will invent an instrument that accurately measures pain in humans real-time.

Used in the home, pain levels could be transmitted to an authorizing facility and pain meds dispensed from a machine, or authorization could be sent to a local pharmacy. Used in a hospital, ER or hospice facility, meds could then be accurately dispensed, and perhaps done automatically.

After that invention, there should be no more prescription pain drug crisis.

K & R - Excellent summary.

I fear for our children's future as well. They have destroyed the very fabric of our communities, enveloped everyone in fear and left the public totally delusional.

Virtually all public capital now trickles up. What else could a billionaire ask for?

They may have wisely waited...

until Trump fatigue set in. Plus, his lawyers are very busy at this time!

Everything is strategy if you're going up against a rich lawyered-up buffoon.

It's finally hitting home that Trump's a liar.

His sensationalism is falling aside and many in the GOP are seeing that he promised things that cannot happen. The new has worn off, and I suspect your barber shop companions are starting to see they have been conned.

Most GOPers are too proud and hard anti-liberal to listen to anything we say, so they will have to learn the hard way.

What actually could be a good side-effect of tRump is that some more sensible GOPers will begin to distrust Faux News and some talk radio hosts like Limbaugh!

I'm just glad our Democratic Party is a big tent.

We don't accomplish much by putting divisive labels on one another. We should instead embrace our differences and work together to forge change. I think most Democrats are well aware of the huge problem of inequality - social and economic - although our levels of education on these issues vary a lot.

The majority of Americans need to be better educated on our international systems of economics, although few are interested. It has grown into such a massive, complex monster that few understand it, and many that do profit from it and are a big part of the inequality issue.

It's good to see diverse views presented and discussed on DU.

Advocating "damage" at a Christian event?

What happened to values such as "love thy fellow man" and the notion of brotherhood?

K&R - Good summary.

This disaster would not be happening if he and the GOP Congress did not have dozens of hard right-wing billionaires financing them and cheering them on, cleverly hiding in the dark out of public view. The GOP totally defers to this group of evil people.

They don't seem to give a shit about the chaos this has brought to the general public.

Exceptionalism.

Nationalistic exceptionalism, racial exceptionalism, cultural exceptionalism and moral exceptionalism in many varieties throughout the world keeps us fenced away from our fellow man. Add territorialism to the mix and we have the national borders in existence today.

I suppose nuclear weapons could represent the ultimate fence.

What was the saying quoted from Rodney King in LA? "Can we get along?".

I agree - the most annoying racket in my neighborhood every week.

Worse then high-power mowers. How many more boy-toys must we have to disturb our peace?

It's like loud mufflers - some men are so childish and insecure they think loud means manly.
