That sums it up well. Republicans love to spend enough that...

our deficit increases after which they can yell "deficit, time to cut spending". Hypocrites!

I used to get furious when hearing their favorite Reagan mantra: "don't you feel you can spend your money better than the government?"

I would reply: "No, I've never been worth a damn at building interstates, schools or parks, testing my food's safety or negotiating treaties and I feel they do those things very efficiently without profit."

Republicans Defunded The Police We Need

Republicans Defunded The Police We Need
Trump and the GOP pretend they love law enforcement -- but they eliminated the cops that protect us from the world’s most dangerous and powerful criminals.

Trump has called himself the “president of law and order,” but these efforts to defund the police have created lawlessness and disorder. And yet, that hasn’t been mentioned by the politicians and pundits pretending to be scandalized by protesters’ demands for a change in criminal justice priorities.

Apparently, we’re expected to be horrified by proposals to reduce funding for the militarized police forces that are violently attacking peaceful protesters -- but we’re supposed to obediently accept the defunding of the police forces responsible for protecting the population from the wealthy and powerful.

This article lists some of the more serious malfeasance during this administration that negatively affects everyday American's lives, income and security.

Call it a starter do-list for Joe.......

Police arrest 21 alleged cult members for flouting Hawaii quarantine

Source: SFGate

HONOLULU (AP) — Twenty-one people who recently arrived in Hawaii, describing themselves as a family with a leader, were arrested and charged with violating the state's mandatory 14-day quarantine put in place in an attempt to protect the islands from the spread of the coronavirus, police said.

They all arrived over two days earlier this month from Los Angeles, Hawaii County police Lt. Rio Amon-Wilkins said Friday. Some of them indicated on quarantine forms and travel declarations that they would be vacationing, while most of them reported that they intended to move to Hawaii, he said.
Tips from the public and social media led police to the group. Some of them were seen at a beach park in Hilo on the day they arrived, police said. The group arrived over two days -- June 7 and 8.

Since March, travelers — residents and tourists — arriving in Hawaii must quarantine for 14 days. Gov. David Ige has extended the mandate through the end of July. Some tourists and one resident have been arrested on suspicion of violating the quarantine. The quarantine has helped Hawaii maintain relatively low infection rates compared to other parts of the U.S.

Hawaii is writing and enforcing rules protecting their citizens. Their good results are primarily because they have an enforceable border, unlike our mainland states.

Far too many Americans do not seem to give a damn that they can got to the beach, contract coronavirus in a large crowd and take it home with them several states away from the source. This freedom makes contact tracing almost impossible even if it were the law.

From Russia with love.

It's guaranteed they planted the seeds on social media and right-wing public media.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A Loveland man faces felony charges after allegedly concluding that two men going door-to-door in his neighborhood were members of the protest movement known as Antifa – and then ordering them to the ground and holding them at gunpoint, 9Wants to Know has learned.

The incident unfolded after the man called police, said there were two men wearing masks near his home, and announced he was armed and going to go confront them, Loveland Police Lt. Bob Shaffer confirmed to 9Wants to Know.
But the men weren’t troublemakers – they work for a local roofing company and were wearing blue polo shirts with the firm’s name on them, shorts, tennis shoes and white surgical-style masks, Shaffer said. “They were canvassing the neighborhood because of the recent hail storms,” Shaffer told 9Wants to Know.
At the scene, police arrested Gudmundsen, 65, who lives around the corner from where police encountered him. Gudmundsen was armed with two weapons, Shaffer told 9Wants to Know: A Glock pistol, and a second Glock pistol that had been converted into a longer weapon that looked like a carbine rifle. Police seized both guns as evidence, Shaffer said.

Most migrants cross at the Texas border. Here’s how the flow of people intersects with Trump’s policies.
By Mandi Cai and Connie Hanzhang Jin Published: Sept. 10, 2019 Updated: June 12, 2020

June 12 update: Here’s how the situation at the border is changing due to the coronavirus pandemic. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can now immediately return most migrants they apprehend or deem inadmissible. These individuals are included in the monthly apprehensions and inadmissibles totals.

Read it here: https://apps.texastribune.org/features/2019/migrant-texas-border-trump-policies/

Since President Donald Trump took office in 2017, his administration has tried to curb migration at the Southwest border with controversial policies like “zero tolerance” and the Migrant Protection Protocols, known as “remain in Mexico.” Initially, migrant apprehensions at the border dipped — then began rising again, followed by a large spike in the first few months of 2019. A steep decline began in May 2019 as new policies took hold.
CBP reports asylum seekers who present themselves at ports of entry as inadmissibles, a category separate from apprehensions. Due to metering, they can wait for months in Mexico, and some choose to cross the border illegally to claim asylum.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has attempted to slow the flow of migrants with a flurry of new policies that have often created confusion and chaos at the border — and sparked multiple lawsuits.

"What you have is an inability in Congress to agree on a broader vision of what immigration should look like in the United States," Leutert said. "And so you have presidents like Obama, or like Trump right now, creating policies that are executive actions or regulations, that are piecemeal.” By focusing exclusively on the border, she added, “you're addressing symptoms, because all of the challenges at the border are coming from much broader, structural issues."

The article provides excellent graphs of immigration during W, President Obama and tRump's terms and a map showing the Texas border zones. Texas has five of the nine Southwest border sectors, which are regions that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection uses to count apprehensions.

TULSA, Okla. — Home appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corporation is temporarily closing a facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, because of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the company said Friday.

“Whirlpool Corporation’s Tulsa plant has confirmed additional cases of COVID-19 and will be temporarily closing - effective immediately," the company said in a statement, according to WHBQ-TV. “We are planning to reopen early next week, and employees will be contacted directly with more information.”
"Any individuals who come in close contact with diagnosed employees have been notified and have been quarantined. The plant is regularly cleaned per CDC guidelines and will be cleaned again before re-opening. We are continuing robust safety measures in accordance with health and government guidelines -- including heightened cleaning protocols, increased distances on our production lines, daily onsite temperature checks, requiring all employees wear a mask, and ensuring employees have proper sanitization equipment.”

I call these cases Republican induced cases.
