So, if I read you guys right that have thoroughly researched this issue...

it all falls back into the lap of Congress to eliminate the conflict between the 2nd Amendment's language, and all the other later laws establishing the NG and standing military.

Why wasn't that conflict considered when they established the NG?

Can that even be fixed without amending the Constitution?

Thanks for the report, groundloop.

Was a ham myself back in the 60s and 70s before career drug me away and I still miss it. Great to know you guys are still in there doing the emergency coverage. We did field days with tents, generators, and rigs with portable antennas while I was in college and I'll never forget that experience.

Ground loop always rings a bell with me 'cause I worked in professional audio for quite a while.

You're exactly right, well said.

Privatize everything, then shovel people into their machine - by force or out of desperation!

Doreen, I have to agree - if we continue the way we are now.

I've watched health care cost go up astronomically since the 50s/60s, when everything was handled in our doctor's office, then write them a check for $20 or $25 and go home. Now, just the paperwork makes my head spin. They've added layer after layer of companies involved in even the simplest procedures. That is what must come to an end, along with too much power and money going to insurance companies and major hospital chains.

This will be a very long fight because all those people profiting off health care will fight us at every step. If we can't stop it, as you say, average folks won't get health care and it will take an all out revolt or national strike to get it fixed.

I'm sure it would not work to force all those layers of companies to close up shop overnight, so a protracted transition period would be required. It seems to me that perhaps we should start with single-payer covering basic care for everyone, then gradually taking over the rest.

Like most things human, we've allowed this health care thing to get far too big and complex.

Couldn't happen to a better crook.

He will blame the UK Labour Party, EU/UK taxes, or Obama, or Hillary, or........(fill in the blank).

He'll have a shit fit when he goes there and sees fewer pictures of him on the walls. Some poor schmuck will be fired.

May be an indicator of his customary behavior in New York and other states.

Some deals in Illinois come to mind.

LOL, "Trump's Razor"

(snip)
Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo wrote an article about Trump’s suspected dimness, which spawned the term “Trump’s Razor” after “Occam’s Razor,” of which Netanyahu is fond. Whereas Occam’s Razor stipulates that where there are several possible explanations for something, the simplest one is usually correct, Trump’s Razor says that where there are several possible explanations for something Trump has said or done, the stupidest is always the right one. But even if we assume that Trump is far from stupid, and definitely not a “moron,” most people would agree that both his election and his presidency are an insult to America’s intelligence, as well as the world’s.

McConnell does not give a shit. He's a honey badger.

Watching Mitch's history, if he thought he did something in the Senate that brought one single job to his state, any amount of dirty money would be moral and justified. He took tons of tobacco money for many years.

We may never know....

unless the cops discover some solid things from his cell phone use, his computer, and any social media contacts. For a wealthy loner guy with a gambling addiction and gun fantasies, a real estate holder and landlord, and a former employee both in government and private business, one could list hundreds of possible motives.

I'm afraid if the conclusion is highly political, it will be kept hidden and we'll never know.
