He bribed; they died

"Taylor's testimony revealed that in visits to Ukraine's Donbass front he was told that at least one or two Ukrainians were dying every day in a hot war with Russia for control of the Ukrainian coal production region.

Biden Predicts GOP Epiphany

From Monday's K street fundraiser:
"With Donald Trump out of the way, you’re going to see a number of my Republican colleagues have an epiphany. Mark my words. Mark my words,” Biden said.

snip
On the same day Biden made his remarks, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was just a few blocks away at the White House, boasting about how he blocked Merrick Garland from getting a seat on the Supreme Court.

For those who think this is part of a strategy it is clear ater many similar statements now that Biden believes it, even after eight years as Obama's vice-president and seeing their obstructiuon firsthand.

Will the Biden Super PAC be taking dark money from Big Pharma, Big Insurance?

My guess is yes, to the tune of millions, the origin of which will not be known publicly. It turns out that the head of the Super PAC has a company that regularly takes money from pharmaceutical and medical device companies:
"the actions of the PAC’s pro-Biden predecessor, “American Possibilities,” also organized by Rasky, are a likely indicator of the group’s future fundraising policies. “American Possibilities” accepted more than $113,000 in donations from lobbyists for Apple, Boeing, Facebook, and the NFL, as well as unregistered influence peddlers working on behalf of a host of industries, ranging from pharmaceuticals to finance.

The forum has been filled with alarm at Warren's public MFA proposal, while nothing is said about the incredibly profitbable companies that are opposing it, as they want to continue to reap big profits off the backs of people who can't afford the current costs of healthcare.

I guess the Biden campaign could ask the Super PAC supporting their candidate to be transparent about who is funding them but that, of course, would go against the whole point of Super PACs, which is to protect those funding them from prying eyes. So we won't know. And the Biden campaign could accept their help while denying it at the same time.

I would bet the companies and their CEOs are already opening their pocketbooks to give to the pro-Biden Super PAC.

Anita Hill ready to hold Biden accountable

From CNN:
"I'm ready to move on, but I am also ready to hold Joe Biden accountable. Accountability means acknowledging your role in a problem and the harm it's caused. Acknowledging that you have culpability," Hill said.

*Breaking*: Warren Leads Biden by 7 points in NEW Quinnipiac poll

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/elizabeth-warren-overtakes-joe-biden-in-new-quinnipiac-poll-democratic-field-2020/

Man I just love putting in the star thingys around the Breaking. Perhaps I should have put Breaking in all caps?

No one shows up to Joe Biden debate parties

From the Philadelphia Inquirer, in Biden's home state of Pennsylvania:
https://www.inquirer.com/news/joe-biden-enthusiasm-philadelphia-sad-watch-parties-elizabeth-warren-grassroots-fundraising-20191020.html

"The two men watched in silence and both left before the three-hour debate ended. A reporter turned off the TV on her way out. Bradford’s was one of three watch parties within a 20-mile radius of Center City registered with the campaign. None drew more than seven people."

“What surprises me is, Philly, you’d expect it to be Bidentown,” she said. “It really hasn’t felt like that.”

Enthusiasm matters when it comes to winning elections, whether some like to admit it or not.

Question about Roku and a wired connection

Have a Roku streaming stick plus and picture from wireless is sometimes blurry due to slow download speeds. Would upgrading to a Roku Ultra which has an ethernet port for a wired connection help? Blogs say it could but if the download speeds are slow from the router how much would it really hep?

Thanks in advance.

Rep Raskin: IG briefing paper looks like a hit piece on Bidens

He just said that on CNN about today's briefing. He held up the "document' and said it raises more questions that provides answers, and it look like just unproven charges against the Bidens. I.e., just another clumsy attempt by the idiots at the WH to derail the investigation.

Drone flying through fireworks

A few years old so probably posted before but still cool (especially in an altered state):

Upcoming Linda Ronstadt documentary

For years Ronstadt has avoided having a film done about her but finally relented to the guy who did the one on David Crosby. She doesn't like talking about her past, or her disease, and is self-critical. But to me she was one of the most talented singers of the 70s and 80s. I loved her stylings and voice, and consider her a pioneer in rock. I also had a huge crush on her.

From the LA Times:

snip
"Friedman, one of the film’s directors, admits he was initially taken aback by Ronstadt’s aversion to attention.

“It’s surprising in many ways that a performer of her stature, who had such success, remained completely unspoiled by it,” he says. “I think it’s hard to understand today, when there’s so much emphasis on celebrity and it’s all about followers and friends and influencers.”"

and

"Growing up in Tucson, she listened to a range of music: Her mother would sing Gilbert and Sullivan on the piano; her Mexican father played the music of his ancestors; her grandmother loved opera; and her sister was obsessed with Hank Williams. As a schoolgirl, she spent her days dreaming of rushing home and playing the records she’d stacked in order of preference.

“I never tried to do anything I hadn’t heard by the age of 10. I wouldn’t be able to do it authentically,” she says of her career choices."
