Chuck Grassley says women won't serve on Senate Judiciary Committee because it's 'a lot of work'

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told a veteran female reporter that there arenít more women on his committees because itís ďa lot of work.Ē

ďItís a lot of work,Ē Grassley told NBCís Andrea Mitchell. ďI mean donít forget compared to a lot of committee meetings, we have an executive (session) for every Thursday Ö so itís a lot of work.Ē


Fuck me - we went back to 1950 and no=one had the courtesy to tell me. At what point are these dinosaurs going to be put out to pasture by the electorate ??

Powerful Judiciary Committee Republican Waves Off Women Rape Survivors and Tells Them to 'Grow Up'

U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), like many Republicans in the Senate today, was confronted by a group of women, including rape survivors. The women, who are trying to convince Republicans to vote against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, challenged Hatch. At 84 years old Sen. Hatch is the longest-serving Republican Senator in the history of the U.S., and as the President pro tempore of the Senate is the second-highest ranking member of the body.

Amy Schumer Among Dozens Arrested At Kav Protest

USA Today reports:

Amy Schumer had a hunch she would get arrested protesting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in Washington. She was right.

The comedian, 37, was among dozens of demonstrators detained in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill Thursday. Earlier in the day, Schumer attended the #CANCELKAVANAUGH protest outside the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse.

TEXAS: Ted Cruz Trolled With 2016 Trump Tweet

Houstonís KHOU reports:

A billboard truck with an old tweet from President Trump on it was spotted at Hermann Park Monday morning. The truck shows a tweet from then-candidate Donald Trump criticizing then-opponent Senator Ted Cruz during the 2016 presidential race. The truck is an advertisement purchased with funds raised by Antonio Arellano, a Houston-based activist and Latino community organizer and David Hogg, a Parkland High School Shooting survivor. It is apparently making the rounds in Texas and has already been spotted in Arlington and Dallas.
