Only three days a week for now which is perfect as I ease myself back into work. 3 months to build a strategy they need and if I do shit right, which of course I will, full time job at the end of it. This is perfect, breaking in after a year out, and this is my area of expertise so I fully expect to kick splendid arse. I have a zoom at 0830 tomorrow to finesse the details. The only thing is they came in slightly under my salary offer, so I will suggest that they get me at that price for three months only, after that I expect my full offer. After all I went in 20k down on my usual, which I expect to be back at in 12 months - because when I have my game on I am really worth it. They are lucky to get me. Cheap at half the price as they say. She says modestly.

The most disturbing thing here is that there is zero acknowledgement that weaponizing that particular pejorative against people of colour is in and off itself one of the most hostile acts that a white person can commit. White religious privilege summed up in this judgement. And that she does not recognise the impact of racist language and that the use of it is always an attack, and the impact of it will always be hostile is horrifying. I think she knows. I think she does not care. Just like the rest of them.

Trumps fundamental flaw, certainly when it comes to winning re-election, is that he cannot believe that people do not support him for anything other than nefarious purposes, so he turns them into the enemy. Blue States, BLM, Soldiers, you name it, he weaponizes demonising language when he either feels threatened by a particular demographic, or when he is polling really badly with them. Suburbs and Seniors are about to become his newest ‘enemies’ in his orange head of ego. I would bet on it.

This is what the Republicans are trying to put on the highest court in the land. A member of a sect that dictates the details of your life to the extent of the size of your belt buckle… that expect women to submit in all things to the head of their household and determines when and whom a single person can date and marry. This is a sect that very obviously see straight, male, pale and stale as living in harmony with the ‘Lord’ and everything other than that has sin attached that needs to be managed within a very patriarchal construct. This is a woman who buys into all of this. Is a leader in this. Has grown up in and chosen to raise her daughters in this. This is the woman they are going to inflict on America for potentially the next 40 years. At this point they are showing the intent that theocracy with a false demi-God as titular head is the name of their game.

All of this. And with that cray cray on SCOTUS, the women Pete is talking about here would be forced into full term forced births (in certain states), irrespective of the risk to her life, or with sure and certain medical advice that their baby will not survive beyond the womb or will have such severe disabilities that life expectancy or pain levels are unsustainable. No women wakes up in the thrid trimester and says 'I think I might pop out for an abortion today'.

The bad faith framing of this argument by the sycophantic, dissembling, misleading, double-crossing, misrepresenting, deceitful, mendacious, treacherous, two-faced, unethical, immoral and plain nasty enablers of the Democracy Destroyer in Chief, is going to hit them badly when you all do the world a solid on November 3rd.
