Fox News host Jeanine Pirro blames Barack Obama for Rob Porter wife-beating scandal

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro suggested that former President Barack Obama was to blame for the scandal surrounding ex-Trump aide Rob Porter.

Porter never received full security clearance and was ousted from his position Thursday after reports surfaced that he physically abused two ex-wives. White House chief of staff John Kelly initially defended Porter as a “man of true integrity and honor.” But he later expressed shock at the allegations and reportedly forced him to resign.

According to Pirro, however, Kelly should not be blamed for the Porter scandal — but the previous president should.

“You want to stop a four-star general who is running the White House, who believes in chain of command, who makes a decision within forty minutes, because you hate President Trump? Find another scapegoat. You might want to look at the last president,” she said.

Wanna see a castle that still has a moat?

I don't care who you are a moat that has been there since the 14th century is just cool. Most castles you visit you can see where the most used to be - but very rare to see an actual moat....

Christian author who said atheists exacerbate evil was cheating on his wife with two women

After the death of the legendary author, journalist, polemicist, and outspoken atheist Christopher Hitchens, Larry Alex Taunton wrote a book that claimed Hitchens flirted with becoming a Christian while on his death bed and may have even acquired a belief in God. The book was slammed outright as a farce.
Taunton’s penchant for intellectual dishonesty aside, it turns out his Christian morals were lacking in the first place. According to a report from Al.com, Taunton resigned from the ministry he founded after “he was confronted about allegations that he had inappropriate relationships with two young women on the ministry staff.”
The idea that atheists don’t have the same moral clarity as Christians was a common theme in Taunton’s work. In an op-ed for Fox News last year, he wrote that “atheism unquestionably exacerbates the evil in our nature. And if Christianity doesn’t make you good — strictly speaking, from a theological perspective, none of us are — it makes you better than you might otherwise be.”

Throughout a lifetime of professed atheism, Hitchens managed to stick to his principles. Taunton couldn’t even stay faithful to his wife.

ICE Is Reportedly Closer Than Ever to Joining the American Intelligence Community

While Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have for years pursued joining the U.S. Intelligence Community, the agency is closer than ever to doing so under the Trump administration, The Daily Beast reported Wednesday evening. Should ICE effectively become a spy agency, it would have “increased access to raw intelligence, unfiltered by analysts”—the kind of information that would allow it to double down on targeting and tracking down undocumented immigrants with criminal warrants.

While President Trump could theoretically sign ICE into the IC by executive order, The Daily Beast reports that it’s more likely that Kirstjen Nielsen, Homeland Security secretary, would sign off on the effort. It would then move to the National Intelligence director and Congress for final approval.

Bermuda officially becomes the first country to abolish same-sex marriage

Bermuda has officially moved to abolish same-sex marriage less than a year after bringing in a law to legalise it.

Just six months after legalising same-sex marriage, Bermuda announced it would be rolling back the law and replacing it with an alternative.
A bill to introduce domestic partnerships was approved without amendment last year and replaces same-sex marriage with the partnerships.

It today was signed into law by the Governor of Bermuda, John Rankin.

Pelosi gives longest US House speech in more than a century

Top US House Democrat Nancy Pelosi made history Wednesday by delivering the longest address to the chamber in at least 108 years, speaking for more than eight hours about protecting young undocumented migrants from deportation.

The veteran California Democrat, who turns 78 next month, took the floor at 10:04 am (1504 GMT) and began to speak.

And she kept speaking. And speaking. And speaking.

Eight hours and seven minutes later, at 6:11 pm, she relinquished the floor -- an entire day at her desk in four-inch (10-centimeter) heels and consuming nothing but water, according to an aide.

Gotta love the stamina and commitment!

Are they ever going to realise he took them for fools?

That he cares for them not a jot.....

Every Briton born before Brexit could get EU citizenship

A group of British citizens living in the Netherlands hoping to retain their EU citizenship after Brexit have won the right to take their case to the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

If their case is successful, it could allow all UK citizens to keep their EU citizenship despite the UK leaving the EU.

The five Britons had asked a court in Amsterdam to refer their case to the ECJ claiming that their existing rights could not be removed due to the result of the Brexit referendum.

The group's lawyer, Christiaan Alberdingk Thijm, argued that Britons can retain EU citizenship thanks to article 20 of the Lisbon Treaty, which states, "citizenship of the union shall be additional to and not replace national citizenship".

Well that would be mighty fine. Keep EU citizenship with all the benefits it bestows while watching collective right wing heads explode at the very thought!
