About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

I know I am speaking to the choir but Trump is an evil and deadly simpleton

Get back to work! Kill more! Save the economy! Fucking dickhead. Open the economy up. More infection, more death, economy further fucked. He is a death panel, not only for the elderly, but for the uninsured and for those who have underlying health conditions. He is death. He is killing people every day. He is murder.

Number One!!!

Go USA! - The fact that Trump is currently trying to gaslight the numbers - trying to claim that the numbers are higher because the US is doing so much more testing is a fucking deadly lie.
He is dangerous to the vast majority of Americans who have not been tested and who are at risk because of a Private healthcare system that does not operate on a spare capacity model (after all empty beds equals lost revenue), a muddled federal support for a coordinated approach to lock down, and, he is still not grasping the absolute seriousness of what is about to happen as he has done nadda to flatten the curve... but when governors have taken control and issued state wide actions he is calling them complainers on Hannity and says NY is exaggerating the number of ventilators it needs... because you know Trump MD... when the numbers look horrific, just attack the messenger.

Deadly gaslighting.

Why did Obama do this?

Gave me a giggle so I thought I would share...

One does feel a wee bit sorry for the miscreants

We are in proper lock down. Police stopping us to question our choices about being outside and fining those who have no good reason - a sparse list of reasons indeed. The government has put together a massive package of socialist intervention - hehe - to ensure that workers, business and the self employed have some income protection during this time, including mortgage relief and a ban on evicting renters for the next three months. But what if you are a naughty person? What of the burglars who cannot burgle when everyone is at home? What of the muggers who cannot mug when no-one is on the streets? I should not feel sorry for them, but I do a wee bit. I mean on one level it is bloody marvellous that their criminal endeavours are being curtailed, but on another level, they can hardly claim that they are self employed and get government relief. And so when all communities have to pull together, what about them? Even if they are thieving little shits they need to live. Many years ago I sat and chatted with some muggers (long story) and they told me that going out mugging was their wages from a society that had given up on them. Ethically flawed, but it has a logic. For those who earn their 'wages' this way, their 'logic' will not put up with this lock down for long. What happens then is anyone's guess.

Every cloud and all that...

An inept, unethical, nasty, germaphobe of a ‘president’ is coming apart because of a virus, in a way that, no matter how good the strategy, democrats could not have achieved in the run up to November. Trump cannot gaslight the virus, as much as he tries to and as the contagion endures each and every word he utters immediately rebounds, highlighting his utter incompetency to the world.
His handling of Covid- 19 is turbo-charging his ruin and guaranteeing that history will remember him as America's worst and deadliest president. So, while Covid-19 is horrid, every cloud has a silver lining and November 2020 is just around the corner…

America's No. 1 Fan

Graphic mine

Misery indeed. And yes you can tell I have a lot of time on my hands with self isolating!

How coronavirus could destroy the Western multilateral order

How we act now, as the multilateral system comes under pressure as never before, will shape the world that emerges – in terms of alliances, trade patterns and ideologies.

The voices of authoritarian states are strong; the voices of democratic leaders are weak and cacophonous. What’s missing is the voice of the 99 per cent, reaching across borders and enmities to build, out of the practical solidarity against this disease, a collaborative global order that prioritises human life, prosperity and wellbeing.

This is a really interesting look at international geopolitics in the world of Covid 19. It is quite a long read but it is really worth clicking on the link to read it all. Nations of course tend to look inwards in times of catastrophe and as Mason points out if all countries react in this way, globalisation will look very different at the end of this crisis.' At worst it could fall apart, as it did in the early 1930s, as one country after another reneged on its obligations.'

A regime that considers all bodies its own to dispose of...

Exactly this. Trump is trying to kill the country and the GOP is helping him.

But her emails...

The Clintons sent pizzas to all of the hospitals in Westchester, more than 400 pies, as a token of their appreciation for everything staff are doing for the community.
The note on all of the deliveries reads: “Thanks for keeping our communities safe. From Bill & Hillary Clinton."

Well done them.

Trump REALLY doesn't want you to see this ad

Apparently Trump REALLY doesn't want you to see this ad. He's suing to have it pulled, so you might want to look at it now and share it with everyone else.

Donald Trump’s Campaign Slaps TV Stations With Cease And Desist Letter To Try To Halt Ad Attacking His Coronavirus Response
In their letter to stations, the Trump campaign says that the Super PAC, Priorities USA Action, “stitched together fragments from multiple speeches by President Trump to fraudulently and maliciously imply that President Trump called the coronavirus outbreak a ‘hoax.’ They contend that Trump was in fact “talking about the Democrat’s politicization of the outbreak when he used the word ‘hoax.'”

They are so whiny...

That is one brilliant ad. Every effective use of words against him. It would be a real shame not to share it...
