About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Marks and Sparks just gave me a wonderful bunch of flowers for free!

Was out for a self distancing walk this morning - my one exercise a day - and popped into Marks and Sparks Foodhall to pick up some bits and pieces. As I was leaving a lady motioned to a trolley with bunches of flowers in and said please help yourself. I have no idea why they are giving them away, but on a beautiful sunny day when you are making your way home to lock yourself in again for another 24 hours it was really spirit lifting.

Each for their own in Trumpland...

Little beasts undoubtedly think going out and about an acting like everything is normal will show loyalty to the great orange turd of bollocks, to show that they believe him over actual facts and data and shit. But we are all interdependent and we are all at risk.

And yes you can tell I have time on my hands!

What they're doing is insanity...

Graphic mine

Criminal insanity if you go with the definition of A mental defect or disease that makes it impossible for a person to understand the wrongfulness of his acts or, even if he understands them, to distinguish right from wrong.
What really pisses me off is they know that he is fucking mental. That he is unable to manage this without a really bad outcome for many Americans but still they support his bollocks.

As Bertrand Russell once said “Our great democracies still tend to think that a stupid man is more likely to be honest than a clever man, and our politicians take advantage of this prejudice by pretending to be even more stupid than nature made them.” Trump is that stupid though and is mentally unbalanced. Those around him have done great pretending to be stupid for years, but at this point it has gone beyond stupid, they have locked themselves in the asylum with Trump, enabling this rambling, scientifically and economically incoherent rambling to continue, watching on as they know he cannot manage this pandemic and the outcomes of it. At all.

The buck stops here

He is never going to take responsibility but the buck does stop with him. He is responsible for this. He has done fuck all except deny the seriousness of it – including his all cap shouty bollocks from last night, saying that this will all be over in 2 weeks. He derided it at rallies, calling it a hoax. He encouraged deep state conspiracy theories. He literally tried to make it all about him. He tells untruths at news conferences. He tells stories about actions being taken to safeguard the public. He brazenly told folks they could go to work even if sick. He is trying to sell the idea of a cure that could literally kill people if it interacts with their heart medication. He has done nothing to protect the lives of American citizens, anything proactive is happening on a state level. He is using the opportunity to try and give massive corporate uplifts including to his own organisation. Because of the appalling lack of leadership at a federal level – the Trump go to defence of gaslighting the nation cannot work against a virus – the virus has got hold – and for all of this he is responsible.
The buck does stop here. Wouldn’t it something if there was a President who understood that? *Sigh*

REPORTER: Will you commit that no money from the emergency stimulus bill will go to your own properties?

TRUMP: "I have no idea what they're talking about. Everything is changing. But I have no idea ... let's just see what happens."

(That's definitely not a yes!)

Trump on using unproven and dangerous drugs for coronavirus: "Why should we be testing it in a test tube for a year and a half when we have thousands of people that are very sick, and we can use it on those people and maybe make them better?"

I have no words. Be safe people, he makes BoJo look like a fucking genius... going to call it again 25th amendment...

It is almost like Trump could forsee the future...

A tweet for every fuck upped wanker thing he has done

Trump on taking responsibility and providing leadership during this pandemic...

It is just like having a failed business man sociopath for a President is worse than having no President at all...

Michigan governor blames GOP and 'separation of church and state' on failure to ban megachurch

“One thing that kind of puzzles me is that you have limited groups of people to 50 or fewer,” Roberts explained. “Yet, there is an exemption for places of worship. Why would a place of worship be any less likely to transmit diseases in a larger gathering than another place?”

“It’s not,” Whitmer agreed. “And we’re discouraging people from gathering at all.”

“So, why this exemption?” Roberts pressed.

Well, you know, the separation of church and state, and the Republican legislature asked me to clarify that that’s an area that we don’t have the ability to enforce and control,” Whitmer said. “We are encouraging people though, do no congregate.”

Yet another example of the grift being more important than the people. Megachurch gotta get paid after all - so they can spend their congregants bucks on buying influence from the republicans, who are then telling the governor that he cannot shut churches down. And round and round and round they go - not caring about the risk to lives.

AOC Rips 'Abhorrent' Proposal to Let DOJ Detain People Indefinitely: 'Urgent Times' Are 'No Reason'

to Waive Civil Rights

As Ocasio-Cortez spoke to CNN’s Jake Tapper about the ongoing national situation, she was asked for her thoughts on the DOJ’s proposal. Her response was a flat-out rejection:

“I think it is abhorrent. This is not a time — there is a long history in this country and in other countries of using emergencies as times to really start to encroach upon people’s civil rights and, in fact, this is the time when we need them the absolute most. We have to keep an eye out for these kind of authoritarian and frankly, for this expansion of — and rather, suspension of rule of law. It does not matter how urgent times are, we have to maintain our civil rights and there’s no reason to be waiving folks’ civil rights in an emergency.”

Give Trump and Barr that power right now - to round up and detain without trial - democracy would be over in the United States... she is right, it is abhorrent...
