About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Brexit Britain Boris Regime of Anti British Bollocks Perfectly Captured in One Image

I don't know where this originates but how perfect

For our American friends - the women on the left is our far right Home Secretary - one of the leading advocates of pulling up the draw bridge - you know that far right isolation policy of us first and be damned everyone else no matter the self harm it causes the nation? She is one of them.

A brilliant summary - saddest part is the ones with the sandbags probably voted for all of it...

But...but..the base

“Hey I’m glad you voted that way. I wish i could have but my base...” is getting to be a pretty exhausting excuse.

Heh. Of course they are scared of their base. Their base these days consists of the kind of fuckers that will mount an armed insurrection and try and hang Pence. Hell if they were my base I would be scared of them too. From the inception of the tea baggers they have pandered too and allowed the swivelled eyed loon fringe to take over the party, and when you want to cling to power as desperately as the neo GOP house members, you need to leave any moral or ethical decision making at the door. Of course, while they pander to the new and shrinking base of the party right leaning independents look on aghast.

The base does not get you elected, just selected.

Arizona vote 'audit' sinks deeper into insanity as state GOP chair threatens her own officials with

The Daily Beast reports that the audit has been driving divisions within the state GOP even deeper, and Ward is now pushing for the arrest of Republican election officials in Maricopa County if they refuse to comply with the auditors' demands.

"There have to be consequences," Ward earlier this week. "There could be arrests of people who are refusing to comply."

Arresting people for standing up against the big lie and the big lie enablers... hhhhhmmm where have we seen that before!?!?!

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Attributed to Goebbels... maybe he didn't say but I think it sums up what is in the neo GOP's shrivelling heart of hate 2021. Arrest anyone who does not offer featly at any cost to the dear leader.

Police Officer- 'I beat the ever-living f--- out of' him 'all of a sudden he just went limp.'

Here is the story according to the AP.

The 46-minute clip shows one trooper wrestling Greene to the ground, putting him in a chokehold and punching him in the face while another can be heard calling him a “stupid motherf―-—.”

Greene wails “I’m sorry!” as another trooper delivers another stun gun shock to his backside and warns, “Look, you’re going to get it again if you don’t put your f―-—- hands behind your back!” Another trooper can be seen briefly dragging the man facedown after his legs had been shackled and his hands cuffed behind him.

Instead of rendering aid, the troopers leave the burly man unattended, facedown and moaning for more than nine minutes, as they use sanitizer wipes to wash blood off their hands and faces.

“I hope this guy ain’t got f――― AIDS,” one of the troopers can be heard saying.

After a several-minute stretch in which Greene is not seen on camera, he appears again, limp, unresponsive and bleeding from his head and face. He is then loaded onto an ambulance gurney, his arm cuffed to the bedrail.

In many parts of the video, Greene is not on screen, and the trooper appears to cut the microphone off about halfway through, making it difficult to piece together exactly what was happening at all times. At least six troopers were on the scene of the arrest but not all had their body cameras on.

“They murdered him. It was set out, it was planned,” Greene’s mother, Mona Hardin, said Wednesday. “He didn’t have a chance. Ronnie didn’t have a chance. He wasn’t going to live to tell about it.”

2 years to get this in front of the public cause when you wear a uniform murdering a black man is just another day at the office.
A lynching by any other name is still a lynching.

Do you remember our grannies loo rolls doily's when we were kids?

So, I was in Harrods today in the Shoe Heaven department which is glorious! And then I came across these shoes...

Don't know how much they cost... if you have to ask you cannot afford them, but all I could see was circa 1975 and this horror

Shoe doily's apparently a thing in 2021. LOL

[Religious right ray cray] on SCOTUS takes up Mississippi abortion case that could limit Roe v. Wade

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to take up a key abortion case next term concerning a controversial Mississippi law that banned most abortions after 15 weeks, rekindling a potentially major challenge to Roe v. Wade at the majority conservative court. Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban, which then-Gov. Phil Bryant, a Republican, signed into law in 2018, made exceptions only for medical emergencies or cases in which there is a "severe fetal abnormality," but not for instances of rape or incest. A federal judge in Mississippi struck down the law in November 2018, and the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that ruling in December 2019.

TRMS covered this last night. The analysis was spot on. Why have SCOTUS agreed to hear a case on settled law, when there have been no conflicting decisions in lower courts - where the law has been struck down over and over - why do they want to hear this case? *soph strokes chin* Oh wait. I forgot. With all the shit going on with the neo GOP, the insurrection and the new Jim Crow voting laws, the fact that the far right religious cray cray in local GOP parties and on the highest court in the land, have wet dreams about introducing a theocratic dominium with the bible as the founding documents and the constitution going back the good old days of being all about male, pale, stale landowners cause *shrugs* to women and their rights has not has the focus it deserves. If this stands the landscape for women across republican run states is perilous in the extreme. First this, what next? Contraception? Punishment for sex not in a marital context? Prison sentences if you travel across state lines for reproductive justice - I can pretty much guarantee that will be a real thing because the men who want to control women's choices also delight in punishing women who refuse to comply with their violent patriarchal, misogynistic, sexist man is the head of the house who needs to be obeyed bollocks. I am not being hyperbolic.

Are Republicans Courting Disaster with Trumpist Loyalty Tests?

The lack of ideological diversity and any meaningful policy debate within the antebellum Democratic Party caused that organization to enact an extreme program that enraged the majority of Americans and caused national disaster. Republicans in 2021 seem to be following that same strategy: punishing dissent, expelling moderates, and favoring conservative purity over practical policy. Moreover, just as Democrats in the 1850s tried to force slavery on anti-slavery populations, Republicans today are forcing their minority agenda on the majority through voter suppression laws, gerrymandering, and illegal activity. If Republicans value the health and future of their party, and the nation, they need to take a look at the past and reconsider their persecution of moderates.

Of course they are courting disaster. They have jumped the Trump cult shark.

Interesting article... Compare and Contrast 1850’s & 2021. Neo GOP repeating the pro-slavery Democratic Party strategy of the 1850s, whose extremist white supremacist governance policies precipitated the Civil War…

What is it that we are supposed to be moving on from regarding January 6th?

Capitol rioter banned from having firearms was just busted on gun charges after killing a mountain..

Patrick Montgomery was allowed to return home to Colorado after he allegedly stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 and kicked a police officer, but federal prosecutors have filed a motion to revoke his release after he posed for a photo with the 170-pound mountain lion he killed, reported the Washington Post.

"Given that Montgomery has repeatedly and flagrantly violated both state and federal law while on pretrial release in this case — including by possessing and using a firearm — the Government respectfully requests that the Court revoke his release pending trial," prosecutors said in the motion.

Why anyone would think that an insurrectionist would respect the terms of bail is beyond me. If any of them actually understood that actions have consequences they would not be traitors...

Why any of them are out on bail is beyond me.

"America's Comeback" tour featuring... Nigel Farage?!?!?! 🤣

Look you can book free tickets to Nigel's tour. Be a shame if nobody showed up though...

You are sooooo welcome to him my loves! On the bright side he has tried several of his own personal comebacks in Brit land without success since he managed to dog whistle the country into Brexit, so I very sure that any 'comeback' from the far right that he is involved with in America will not really have the impact this idiots are hoping for!
