About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Right wing oppressors hypocrisy is gargantuan

Trump is facing 'political death' without enough time to turn the country around before the election

Never Trumper Matt Lewis on the employment stats and how this may well impact for November:

“This is political death,” he wrote. ” Incumbent presidents like Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and George H. W. Bush all lost re-election while presiding over high levels of unemployment over 7 percent. The exceptions were Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan, both of whom ran for re-election as the rate was declining from previously higher numbers. Obama presided over the highest unemployment rates in decades during his first term and won re-election with the rate at 7.7 percent; Reagan won a landslide in 1984 with a 7.4 percent.”

As Lewis notes, time — with an election looming in November — is not on Trump’s side for one big reason.

“It gets worse for Trump,” he suggested. “He doesn’t really have four-and-a-half months to turn things around. Around half of the U.S. will be able to vote as early as September. Even before COVID-19, around 40 percent of votes cast were done so before election day. And even if you assume most of the people who vote early or absentee will wait until October, that means he’s running out of precious time.”

Emphasis mine

As James Carville once famously said 'The economy, stupid'. In one way it is depressing that it took a major hit to the economy to put Trump at risk of losing some of his voters, on the other hand if people have to go through this economic hardship anyway cause Covid then at least the silver lining in all of this is that he cannot gaslight his way to election victory when people ARE dying and people ARE unemployed in huge numbers. As the article points out, he needs to turn this round by September?? Hehe. Not gonna happen, he ain't no Houdini.

At least we are not America we smugly say

In the talks of race and racism, all black commentators on this side of the pond have explained in full how we are worse than the US. In the US it is overt as fuck, racists in America feel no shame in demonstrating what wankers they are, meanwhile here in the UK, as they whitesplain Empire, the denial is deep that we are a racist country. From the PM down there is systemic denial of a systemic problem that goes back a 1000 years. The howls of faux outrage that a slaver of historically horrific proportions statue is felled as part of the BLM protests over here is a tribute to how much certain sections of our society want to worship Empire while they systematically attempt to silence and oppress those who have been disproportionately affected by Empire and its fall out.

The only thing right now that I can see the UK doing better at than the US is that the police have been policing by consent at protests, rather than by force. But after our rabid right-wing Home Secretary did a fine fascist performance in the House of Parliament today about the ‘thugs’ protesting (dog whistle anyone?) that will change from tomorrow. Expect riot gear and bollocks nasty forthwith.

Smug Brit: At least we are not America
Smug Brit: Oh Shit

Well known racist declares that the UK is not racist

The man who has said:

"What a relief it must be for Blair to get out of England. It is said that the Queen has come to love the Commonwealth, partly because it supplies her with regular cheering crowds of flag-waving piccaninnies," he wrote, referring to African people as having "watermelon smiles."

"it is absolutely ridiculous that people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes," talking about Muslim women.

"To any non-Muslim reader of the Koran, Islamophobia — fear of Islam — seems a natural reaction, ...Judged purely on its scripture — to say nothing of what is preached in the mosques — it is the most viciously sectarian of all religions in its heartlessness towards unbelievers."

"That means disposing of the first taboo, and accepting that the problem is Islam. Islam is the problem."

The problem with Africa is that Britain “are not in charge anymore”.

"For ten years we in the Tory Party have become used to Papua New Guinea-style orgies of cannibalism and chief-killing.”

declares as a nation we are not racist. Well that is a real relief, the racist Prime Minister, who refuses to recognise his own racism has extend that wilful refusal to recognise racism to the rest of the country. Of course, for the rest of us that do not live in far right, white male privileged uplands of rainbows and unicorn this is errant nonsense. How many black men and women do you have in your cabinet Prime Minister? *Crickets*

They WANT you to be scared

That is the only point. Govern by violence and fear to maintain male white conservative privilege. They sure as hell do not want to give one inch of that power and privilege to underrepresented groups so they want people to be afraid to take a stand. This is why you see a militarised police force of brown shirts stomping down the streets and using excessive force against protesters protesting excessive force. They are really trying to cling to this last century mode of governance in a 21st Century which will have none of it. The thing that the powerful and privilege fear the most is if under privileged and underrepresented communities get any of the power they cling too with a fascist white supremacist fervour, that they will turn on them and treat them the way these communities have been treated for 100's of years. And that is why this is the only point. They are scared that one day the tide will turn and there will be a comeuppance for their immoral and unethical murderous policies and lives, so they will rule through fear for as long as they can get away with it. The more scared everyone else it the better. Of course at this point in the game people may be scared, but they are more angry than they are scared - and this is terrifying to the elites - they need people to be scared into compliance and hence the absolute over reaction from the powerful to protests.

#TrumpSlogans: aMErica First

Apparently the Trump campaign is seeking a new slogan for the election, as at this point with the economy in the toilet, protests taking place across the county, and over 100k and counting dead from Covid Keep America Great as a slogan probably would not be that effective... 👀

#TrumpSlogans is a current thing on the interwebs but I thought this would make the most splendid of slogans, at least it would mean that for once Trump was being honest with his cult.

She knows a fascist when she see one

We can forgive the grammar, I questioned if this was real, it seemed like the tattoo was too big, but I googled it and and compare and contrast it looks real. And at this point when a very old lady who was a victim of the Nazi's rocks up to tell you that you are shit stain, you really are a fascist fucker.

Just one more in a long line of things these fascist thickets are going to fail at.

It should always have been obvious to us as we looked down the lens of an authoritarian fascist near future, that like with everything else Trump touches, he was bound to fuck it up. If the far right that surround Trump understood, or had any skills in leadership and governance at all, it may have been too late by November to save the republic. But we can be thankful today, as we bear witness to the power of the people, that they are about as competent at authoritarianism as they are at governing. This is because they are a bunch of no hopers who in any other administration would last about 30 seconds before being fired. Not only are they that incompetent, they have blown the whole far right wet dream game of being a totalitarian state, with only people just like them in charge, by being so transparent in their aims – subtle is not in their vocabulary – and when you are trying to pull of a coup you need to be slightly more delicate than tear gassing peaceful protesters and putting the army on the streets of DC – all that has done is piss off a whole load of people who thought the protests had nothing to do with them, but know that the 2nd Amendment should be stinviolable and the army on the streets in America should never be a thing.

We all hold heart with the protesters that by virtue of standing firm in this moment, show they are unwilling to stand by while America slips into authoritarianism or outright fascism, and Trump and his cabal have been held in check, in part, because of this. But the truth of the matter is that when you surround yourself with fascist yes men and sycophants, and you have a below average IQ, whatever you think you are plotting and planning – you are going to fuck it up, because you are that stupid. It is horrid for the people of America right now but however much they try to destroy democracy, the evidence of the last few days shows us that this attempted coup by a far right president is just one more in a long line of things these fascist thickets are going to fail at.

This is a white problem

Banksy makes a very powerful point and creates a very powerful image on BLM

Black people cannot fix racism. Society asks them all of the time to adjust their behaviours as if racists are ever going to say well you have changed enough to satisfy me so I am not going to be racist anymore... this is a white problem and until white people (particularity those with power and privilege) are persuaded that it is their responsibility to be better then change will be so much harder. I think that the death of George Floyd and the protests that have followed will be persuading to many, fingers crossed.

Along with this commentary...

I particular love that the stars in the flag are now tweets -cause Twitler is really trying to set America on fire one tweet at a time, because he is that big of a wanker.

Bullet Points

I will not shoot myself
In the head, and I will not shoot myself
In the back, and I will not hang myself
With a trashbag, and if I do,
I promise you, I will not do it
In a police car while handcuffed
Or in the jail cell of a town
I only know the name of
Because I have to drive through it
To get home. Yes, I may be at risk,
But I promise you, I trust the maggots
Who live beneath the floorboards
Of my house to do what they must
To any carcass more than I trust
An officer of the law of the land
To shut my eyes like a man
Of God might, or to cover me with a sheet
So clean my mother could have used it
To tuck me in. When I kill me, I will
Do it the same way most Americans do,
I promise you: cigarette smoke
Or a piece of meat on which I choke
Or so broke I freeze
In one of these winters we keep
Calling worst. I promise if you hear
Of me dead anywhere near
A cop, then that cop killed me. He took
Me from us and left my body, which is,
No matter what we’ve been taught,
Greater than the settlement
A city can pay a mother to stop crying,
And more beautiful than the new bullet
Fished from the folds of my brain.
