About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

'Literally deporting kids with cancer': Trump admin ends protections for some getting medical care

The radicalization of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under Ken Cuccinelli continues, now that the agency has told a number of Boston families that had been allowed to stay in the U.S. while their children undergo vital treatment—including for cancer, cerebral palsy, and cystic fibrosis—to leave the country within 33 days or be thrown into deportation proceedings.

It’s not just Massachusetts, either: “Advocates say similar letters from [USCIS] have been issued to immigrants in California, North Carolina and elsewhere.” Previously, USCIS allowed some immigrants short-term deportation relief through what’s known as medical "deferred action,” so that family members could receive or continue medical care, while parents would also be given permission to work legally. But this could now mostly be a thing of the past for many.

Ohio Republican Soybean Farmer Rips Trump's 'Hush Money,' Says China Markets 'Not Coming Back'

And these ongoing bailouts, Gibbs added, may become a permanent fixture, thanks to Trump’s confrontational and erratic trade policy. After two seasons of buying very little corn and soybeans from US farmers, Chinese importers have moved on to new suppliers, he pointed out.

“The president was never, ever forthright with the American people and he was never forthright with farmers that this was about containment,” Gibbs said. “The president needs to be square with the farmers. These markets are not coming back in this fashion, no matter how many soybeans they want, no matter how much pork they want, these markets are not coming back because supply chains have changed. Supply chains have changed and they have moved to Brazil and they’ve moved to other places.”

Soooooo much winning...

unelected poundshop dictator

With this, the unelected poundshop dictator Boris Johnson threatens to end Britain's long history of Parliamentary democracy.

If Parliament is silenced on the biggest issue of our time we must take to the streets in peaceful protest & civil disobedience.

There will be a million in the street I predict. We need 3.5% of the population protesting to affect change...

Boris Johnson 'will today ask the Queen to SUSPEND Parliament days after MPs return to work just...

...weeks before the Brexit deadline'

Under plans to be approved at Balmoral today, MPs will not sit between mid-September and October 14, according to reports.

That will give MPs extremely little time to prevent a No Deal Brexit on October 31, despite cross-party efforts to pass legislation to do just that.

The Government insists the move is a regular procedural step and called it a 'bog standard Queen's Speech process' but opponents of Brexit immediately labelled it a 'dark day for UK democracy'.

And the far right coup is very nearly complete...

Susan Collins 'Sad' Voters Might Punish HER For Impending Loss Of Reproductive Rights, How Rude!

Perhaps the most telling portion of the entire article, however, was the point at which Senator Collins lamented that she probably lost some votes when she cast her vote to put Brett Fucking Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.

"Have I lost some votes because of my decision to support Justice Kavanaugh? Yes, I have. And I'm sad about that because I explained in great depth my decision-making," Collins said. But "there still is an appreciation in Maine for someone who looks at the facts of an issue, votes with integrity and independence."
Aw! What's got into ya, Suzy Creamcheese? Are you sad? Sad that you are going to lose some votes here? Well we are sad too. We are sad that, thanks to your vote, we now have yet another accused sexual predator on the Supreme Court. We are sad that, thanks to what you call your "integrity and independence," Roe v. Wade is likely to be overturned. Reproductive rights, after all, are somewhat integral to our "integrity and independence."

Collins is also sad that we bloodsuckers do not think she does enough to stand up to Donald Trump, mostly because she doesn't do enough to stand up for Trump, like when she voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court:

"It's never enough. Never. For those who truly hate the president, I'm never going to be able to do enough for them," Collins said between bites of banh mi, which she frugally tucks into a to-go container before hurrying to a paper mill reopening. "I get tired of the 'she speaks but doesn't act.'"
Oh, the poor dear. She sounds a little bitter. YOU KNOW WHO ELSE IS BITTER, SUSAN?

She cannot rationalise her way out of this level of betrayal, she is not a feminist, she bowed to the pressure to allow true haters of women to do what they do best.

She's baaaack!

Five Democratic senators throw a legal bombshell at the Supreme Court with unusual brief in gun case

It accused the five justices who were appointed by Republican presidents – Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, John Roberts and Clarence Thomas – of pursuing a “political project” and being in league with the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups seeking to radically expand gun owners’ protections provided by the Second Amendment.

The petitioners’ “effort did not emerge from a vacuum,” the brief alleged. “The National Rifle Association (NRA), promoted the confirmation (and perhaps selection) of nominees to this Court who, it believed, would ‘break the tie’ in Second Amendment cases. … This backdrop no doubt encourages petitioners’ brazen confidence that this Court will be a partner in their ‘project.’”
The brief concludes with the warning that the court must “heal itself” lest it be “restructured.” As one progressive group aptly noted, that warning is less the work of a legal document than “a declaration of war.”

Gotta love politicians that decide to use direct language in calling out those who would risk democracy for partisanship... yay!
