China is going to win the trade war. Trump has already lost, and so has the American people.
What Trump forgets (or maybe never knew - cause he is a simpleton) is that the Chinese have a very different system of governance. If the Chinese people hurt because of a trade war, no-one is the Chinese elite will give a shit. Neither will the American elite when blue collar workers hurt. The big difference of course is that pesky thing called elections. China just a generation ago was as poor as a church mouse. Hundreds of millions lived in abject poverty, those same hundreds of millions have now moved up the economic scale to poverty. If they move back to abject poverty? *shrug*. China will retaliate with tariffs on $75 billion worth of US goods and resume auto duties
The Chinese State Council said it decided to slap tariffs ranging from 5% to 10% on $75 billion U.S. goods in two batches effective on Sep. 1 and Dec. 15.
It also said a 25% tariff will be imposed on U.S. cars and a 5% on auto parts and components, which will go into effect on Dec.15. China had paused these tariffs in April.
