Gay man in Kabul 'raped and beaten' by Taliban after being tricked into meeting

The victim, we'll call Hanan to protect his identity, had been talking to a man on social media for three weeks before agreeing to meet him.

Hanan, a gay man terrified since the Taliban took control of the country, had been promised a safe way out of the country.

He was deceived - two members of the Taliban met him and carried out their brutal attack.

Hanan survived but is living in silence, shock, and shame under a regime intent on not just denying, but extinguishing the existence of him and we who are like him.
"They are trying to tell the world 'we are changed and we don't have problems with women's rights or human rights' - but they are lying.

"The Taliban hasn't changed, because their ideology hasn't change," he says.

Under that ideology, same sex love, attraction and relationships are punishable by death.

Emphasis mine

There are people on the radio this morning saying we should have talks with the Taliban cause they are not as bad as ISIS-K....
Yeah, the Taliban only want to take Afghanistan back to the 10th Century, while ISIS - K want to go all the way back to the 7th. Some difference 👀. All the while LGBTQI are at risk of real harm, as are women and girls and minority religious and ethnic groups, at the hands of competing cray cray death cults.

Rudy Giuliani Reportedly Told DOJ Investigators He Made Up Claims About Hillary Clinton's Emails...

...Ahead Of The 2016 Election

Of course he made them up. Nothing that comes out of that mans gob has any fact based planet normal human being truth in it. Not one word...

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani told Department of Justice investigators that he made up claims about Hillary Clinton’s emails ahead of the 2016 election, according to The Daily Beast. At the time, Giuliani claimed in a radio interview that he’d heard “rumors” about the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails from “active” FBI agents.
“His chats had amounted to “gossip” about Comey’s decision-making, and the “active” agents he referred to were just retired FBI agents actively working in security and consulting, he told the OIG,” the outlet reports.

“Giuliani later claimed that the “surprise” he had been referring to was a speech Trump would deliver before the election that would derail Clinton and had been unrelated to Comey’s announcement,” the report continues.

“Accordingly, the purported investigative leads provided by the FBI based on alleged FBI employee contacts with Giuliani were inaccurate,” the report says.

Disinformation 101 from the neo GOP wankers... Anything for a win, truth be damned
As Trump said recently "If you say it enough and keep saying it, they'll start to believe you." How very fascist of him. Heh.

A really shite in the thick of it impression is literally our government

Johnson: Are you the guys inundated with all the emails from everywhere in the world saying, please help my son, mother in Afghanistan? I've had a few of those

Raab: It was extraordinary that they all stayed after the #KabulAiport attack

Johnson: Amazing, amazing

When utter charlatans try to fake empathy this is what you get. It might be funny if so many lives were not on the line. What the actual have we done to deserve this level of horrid?
'The worst possible government led by the worst possible man at the worst possible time.'

After the deadliest day in Afghanistan for a decade remember Trump owns it

Trump defeated ISIS my arse. He owns all of this, not that any of them will ever take responsibility of course.

This literally should be a PSA blasted wall-to-wall...

This literally should be a PSA blasted wall-to-wall in every state in the nation.

This should be played at every 'first world problems privileged anti-vaxer march' in the west...
The noise of those beeps. Horrid.

I hate it.

I am not bashing Biden in this article, I understand intellectually that Afghanistan has to be seen in the rear-view mirror for so many reasons, but I hate it. I blame Trump for the rapid takeover by the Taliban he let out of prison 3 years ago, and, I will condemn him and his reckless administration for what is about to befall the women and girls of Afghanistan, for ever, and I hate them for it.

I know that for most in the West, brown women and girls a world away are not a priority, but as someone who contributed to charities for women and girls just trying to stay alive under the last Taliban death cult, I hate it. You can be very sure when Tump and Pompeo were sucking Taliban dick for short term headlines, they gave not one moment of thought to what a resurgent Taliban would mean for women and girls. And here we are.

I hate that woman are not only looking down the lens of losing their hard-won freedoms over the last 20 years but that, as sure as night follows day, women are going to lose their lives as we leave. I hate the fact that the women who stood up for and supported and engaged with civic society over the last 20 years are those now most at risk from the Taliban. Female singers, soccer players, judges, newsreaders, legislators, teachers to name a few are all about to be targeted, with execution or forced marriage, depending on their age, being the most likely outcomes.

Women are being turned away from universities and places of work.

Girls are being turned away from school.

The Taliban are already going door to door and the Chador has doubled in price.

I hate it.

Thank God we took back control

And it not just on the domestic stage either. As Ailbhe Rea writes so eloquently in the New Statesman morning call today:

The priority at today's call will be to coordinate the humanitarian and refugee resettlement response to the crisis, where the Prime Minister will, again, hope to assume a leadership role. But that is where his past foreign policy decisions will come back to bite him. The aid that the UK has promised to Afghanistan in recent weeks is still lower than the 2019 level, weakening Johnson's scope to secure ambitious aid commitments from allies. Depending on how the G7 call goes today, it could well be that the collapse of Afghanistan comes to exemplify the weakened and confused place of "Global Britain" on the world stage - drifting from the US, and oscillating between leadership and retreat on global issues.
Emphasis mine

Fun times continue unabated 👀

This feels like end times stupid

I can’t make this up. People are now protesting life saving medical care & ventilators… Just Wow. #medtwitter #covid #unvaccinated

Next level stupid. Bat shit cray cray has nothing on this deadly death cult nonsense. Not only do they not want you to get vaccinated - but when you inevitably end up drowning in your own lungs, they do not want you to have access to the very kit that may save your life.

Next level death cult.

For a country of laws, limited and specific way has got to be way up there...

Zero gravitas...

Live For The Orange Man, Die Alone On A Ventilator For The Orange Man

Not the first and certainly not the last. The death cult is asking a lot of its members these days.

Contempt for the conman, compassion for the conned. He was one of the conmen so thoughts and prayers...
