Far right neo nationalist retreat is the name of the jingoist game - shut the borders from those fleeing persecution AND remove all safety nets from the poorest in society - they care not one jot about the misery and death of the most vulnerable. Here in the UK at the moment they are suggesting to send asylum seekers to Rwanda - knowingly sending vulnerable people to a state that is not safe... apparently because they are concerned about the safety of the those crossing the English Channel in small boats. What a load of rot. They care not one jot about black and brown people trying to make it to our shores - other than how it makes them look to the jack booted grass level die hard racist nasty that keep them emboldened.
Boris Johnson Tories to Neo-GOP MAGA - the world thought you separating children from their parents at the border was a morality free black hole of awful racist action - hang on a minute, hold my beer.
Boris Johnson Tories to Neo-GOP MAGA - we once looked on the need for foodbanks in the USA as a failure of the state to ensure a safety net for all, now thanks to my leadership we have more food banks than McDonalds.
It is depressing AF.

But that was the choice of the taxpayer-funded Florida Department of Education (FDOE) late Friday. The release -- apparently translated from the original Russian -- announced that state authorities “found 41 percent of the submitted textbooks were impermissible with either Florida’s new standards or contained prohibited topics.”

It is sometimes hard to remember - as the right wing seizes the narrative across much of the West - that progress has been made - and as much as they push for a nationalist retreat - this is not going to be the future. Not one bit of it, progressive strategies are the name of the game for fixing the big stuff. Go us!
