Former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear at the third annual Ozy Fest that takes place July 21 and 22 in Central Park, the Daily News has learned.
Clinton will be interviewed by Laurene Powell Jobs, president and founder of the Emerson Collective, a nonprofit organization that advocates for progressive causes.

“The whole mission of the festival is to bring diverse voices to one stage, and expose people to unexpected perspectives,” Ozy Media founder Carlos Watson told the Daily News in April.

According to Watson, Clinton and Powell Jobs will discuss the “politics of the moment,” as well as emerging social movements and new opportunities concerning health, technology and family.

The former First Lady joins a lineup that already includes newsmakers like comedians Michelle Wolf and Chelsea Handler, actress Laverne Cox, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, writer Malcolm Gladwell, sportscaster Jemele Hill, billionaire Tom Steyer, author Salman Rushdie and more.

In addition to panel discussions and demonstrations, the festival at Rumsey Playfield will feature performances by musical acts Common, Passion Pit and Young the Giant, plus culinary experiences from celebrity chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Roy Choi.

After attracting more than 5,000 attendees for last year's single-day festival with a lineup that included Samantha Bee, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Katie Couric and Issa Rae, Ozy Fest will expand to two days in 2018.
The festival will also be live-streamed by the BBC.

In October, there was speculation that Clinton would join academia, with multiple sources revealing to the Daily News that the former New York senator was in talks to join the faculty of Columbia University.

Dorothea Lange: Politics of Seeing
Barbican Art Gallery
Through September 2, 2018

This summer, Barbican Art Gallery is staging the first UK survey of the American documentary photographer Dorothea Lange (1895–1965), one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. The gallery describes Lange as “a formidable woman of unparalleled vigor and resilience.”

The exhibition, called Dorothea Lange: Politics of Seeing, charts Lange’s photographic vision from her early studio portraits of San Francisco’s bourgeoisie to her celebrated Farm Security Administration work (1935–1939) that captured the devastating impact of the Great Depression on the American population.

The show features the iconic Migrant Mother as well as rarely seen photographs of the internment of Japanese-Americans during the Second World War and several post-war series documenting the changing face of the social and physical landscape of 1950s America,

"A man you can bait with a tweet.." HRC's Warning of Trump, 2016 DEM Convention

SNIP

"At a briefing on Aug. 8, Trump said that any further threats from the North Koreans would be met with “fire and fury.” And it's making everyone think of the same thing: Hillary Clinton's tweet about nuclear weapons from the 2016 campaign.

“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons,” Clinton warned the United States in a tweet barely a year ago.

The message was signed with Clinton's first name, a sign that she wrote it herself, as opposed to staffers. It's frighteningly relevant now, as Trump appears to level threats against North Korea.

Facebook warns 800,000 users that it accidentally unblocked people they had already blocked

Facebook warns 800,000 users that it accidentally unblocked people they had already blocked

Facebook is warning some 800,000 users that a bug caused the system to unblock some people that they had previously blocked.

It meant that the supposedly-blocked users could view the profiles of people who had blocked them, and send them messages - which isn't supposed to happen after you block them.

The block tool is sometimes used by people to protect themselves from abusive or harassing behaviour.

The bug was live between May 29 and June 5, Facebook said, and has since been fixed. Users who were affected will receive a message from the company warning them about it.

Blocked users couldn't see posts shared by the person who blocked them that were only visible to their friends - but "someone who was unblocked might have been able to contact people on Messenger who had blocked them," the company says.

A Facebook spokesperson declined to comment on how many of these temporarily-unblocked users took advantage of the bug to contact the person who had originally blocked them, or to view profile information that they shouldn't have been able to access.

This is a significant error from Facebook. Victims of harassment or of abusive ex-partners will sometimes use the block feature to prevent aggressors from contacting them or viewing their online activities.
This bug could have given these bad actors an avenue back into their victims' online lives that shouldn't have been open to them.

Devin Nunes is down a whopping 27 points from 2016

Trump attack dog Devin Nunes is down a whopping 27 points from 2016

Running interference for Trump on Russia may cost Devin Nunes his seat.

SNIP
And now Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who easily won re-election by 35 points in 2016, is down to just an eight-point lead over his Democratic challenger, Andrew Janz.

In a new Public Policy Polling survey, paid for by Democratic political action committee End Citizens United, 49 percent of voters support Nunes, compared to 41 percent who support Janz.

Typically, an eight-point advantage is a comfortable margin. But compared to 2016, this means Nunes’ level of support has already plummeted by an astonishing 27 points in less than two years.

And given the massive scale of the campaign his challenger is running, Nunes’ support could easily drop even further in the more than four months between now and November.

Janz, a violent crimes prosecutor, has raised about four times more cash than all of Nunes’ previous Democratic challengers between 2002 and 2016 put together, according to the Fresno Bee.

Those seven previous challenges only raised $650,000 between them — but Janz’s campaign war chest is an amazing $2.5 million.
That might be the most of any House challenger in the country this election cycle

Maybe This Helped Somewhat too
