Russia is the Only Country That Exports Asbestos to the US

https://twitter.com/PuestoLoco/status/1027318733616889856

"OK journos, here's a list of companies in the U.S. who continue to use Chrysotile (asbestos) in their products. Let's make some noise about boycotting these greedy pigs."

Replying to @PuestoLoco and @marcilynflanne3
"Is there a way that a lawsuit could be brought to stop this?"

@PuestoLoco
"This sight tells victims how they can sue. If you want to stop it before you're a victim, I suggest contacting a state attorney general who is not a Russiapublican and ask them if they allow it in the State. California seems to care."

Asbestos Products Manufacturers

"Even with cries to ban the mining and production of asbestos resounding across the world, the industry continues to thrive.
Concerns about the diseases caused by asbestos exposure prompted more than 50 nations — including the entire European Union — to ban or severely restrict asbestos use. Strict U.S. regulations took hold in the 1970s.
Yet countries like Russia, China, Brazil and Kazakhstan still mine and sell massive quantities of the toxic mineral on a global scale.
"

"Russia is the only country that sells Asbestos to the US".

What a coincidence..

When your Bio is as success filled as Nancy Pelosi's..Then come back & tell us your successes

https://pelosi.house.gov/biography-0

Nancy Pelosi is the Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives for the 115th Congress. From 2007 to 2011, Pelosi served as Speaker of the House, the first woman to do so in American history.
As the Democratic Leader, Pelosi is fighting for bigger paychecks and better infrastructure for America’s middle class families.
In 2013, she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the American women’s rights movement.

For 30 years, Leader Pelosi has represented San Francisco, California's 12th District, in Congress. She has led House Democrats for more than 12 years and previously served as House Democratic Whip.

Under the leadership of Pelosi, the 111th Congress was heralded as "one of the most productive Congresses in history" by Congressional scholar Norman Ornstein. President Barack Obama called Speaker Pelosi “an extraordinary leader for the American people," and the Christian Science Monitor wrote: “…make no mistake: Nancy Pelosi is the most powerful woman in American politics and the most powerful House Speaker since Sam Rayburn a half century ago.”

Working in partnership with President Obama, Speaker Pelosi led House passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in early 2009 to create and save millions of American jobs, provide relief for American families, and provide a tax cut to 95 percent of working Americans. With the House Democratic Caucus, Pelosi continues to focus on the need to create jobs in America and prevent them from being shipped overseas.

Speaker Pelosi achieved passage of historic health insurance reform legislation in the House which establishes a Patients’ Bill of Rights and will provide insurance for tens of millions more Americans while lowering health care costs over the long term. The new law provides patients with affordable insurance choices, curbs abuses by the insurance industry, strengthens Medicare, and reduces the deficit by more than $100 billion over the next 10 years.

In the 111th Congress, Speaker Pelosi also led the Congress in passing strong Wall Street reforms to rein in big banks and protect consumers as well as the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act, which expands educational opportunities and reforms the financial aid system to save billions of taxpayers’ dollars. Additional key legislation passed into law included the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to restore the ability of women and all workers to access our judicial system to fight pay discrimination; legislation to provide health care for 11 million American children; national service legislation; and hate crimes legislation. In late 2010, Pelosi led the Congress in passing child nutrition and food safety legislation as well as repealing the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, which prohibited gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military.

Pelosi has made energy security her flagship issue, enacting comprehensive energy legislation in 2007 that raised vehicle fuel efficiency standards for the first time in 32 years and making an historic commitment to American home grown biofuels. In 2009, under her leadership, the House passed the landmark American Clean Energy and Security Act – a comprehensive bill to create clean energy jobs, combat climate change, and transition America to a clean energy economy. The legislation was blocked by Republicans in the United States Senate, but sent a strong signal to the world about the United States’ commitment to fighting the climate crisis.

A leader on the environment at home and abroad, Pelosi secured passage of the “Pelosi amendment” in 1989, now a global tool to assess the potential environmental impacts of development. In San Francisco, Pelosi was the architect of legislation to create the Presidio Trust and transform the former military post into an urban national park.

In continuing to push for accountability and transparency in government, under Speaker Pelosi, the House passed the toughest ethics reform legislation in the history of the Congress, including the creation of an independent ethics panel, and increased accountability and transparency in House operations, including earmark reforms. As Speaker, Pelosi led the fight to pass the DISCLOSE Act in the House, which fights a corporate takeover of U.S. elections and ensures additional disclosure; she continues to fight for this legislation today.

Additional key accomplishments signed into law under the leadership of Speaker Pelosi include: an increase in the minimum wage for the first time in 10 years; the largest college aid expansion since the GI bill; a new GI education bill for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars; and increased services for veterans, caregivers, and the Veterans Administration.

Pelosi comes from a strong family tradition of public service. Her late father, Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., served as Mayor of Baltimore for 12 years, after representing the city for five terms in Congress. Her brother, Thomas D'Alesandro III, also served as Mayor of Baltimore. She graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. She and her husband, Paul Pelosi, a native of San Francisco, have five grown children and nine grandchildren

At the sound of the bell, Davids leapt forward and landed a clean left hook that sent her opponent tumbling to the mat.
The crowd cheered as Davids mounted her opponent and continued her onslaught.
Not long afterwards, the referee separated the fighters and allowed Davids back to her feet.

She had won her first professional fight in less than two minutes.

The Kansas native was calm, precise and brutally effective in victory – a perfect start to what could have been a fruitful career.

Though it was clear that Davids belonged in the fight game, few realized that the stage she was destined to compete on would be the political arena.

"IMPEACH 45" Signs, mysteriously showing up in Vegas

https://twitter.com/krassenstein/status/1026458368418832384

https://hillreporter.com/45-mph-speed-limit-signs-in-vegas-may-instead-read-impeach-45-5263/amp

If you are driving around Las Vegas, Nevada, and happen to be on a road with a 45 MPH speed limit, you may come across something surprising. Some motorists in Vegas are noticing that those traditional signs that normally read “Speed Limit 45” now says “Impeach 45”, in protest of our 45th President, Donald Trump.

On the surface this may look like a traditional act of vandalism, but in actuality there are good intentions behind this magnetic quasi-vandalism.

SNIP
A man who goes by the name Eric Levi, for anonymity’s sake, tells Hill Reporter that his actions are actually for a good cause.

“I HAVE A CAMPAIGN WHERE I HANG ONE OF THESE SIGNS FOR EVERY SHIRT BOUGHT, AND THE PROCEEDS [GO TO] FEEDING AND CLOTHING HOMELESS VETERANS IN LAS VEGAS,” LEVI TELLS US. “I ONLY ATTACH THE SIGNS WITH MAGNETS, TO ENSURE I CAUSE NO DAMAGE. I RETURN WITHIN 24 HOURS AND REMOVE THEM, AND APPLY THEM AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION.”

Levi sells shirts which have pictures of his signs on top of the traditional road signs for $19.99 on bonfire. They are available in five colors (grey, black, pink, orange and blue), and literally every possible size you can imagine.

August 3, 2018
About 100 firefighters from Australia and New Zealand are traveling to the U.S. on Friday to assist exhausted crews battling wildfires in the U.S. northwest.

1.4 million acres in 13 states, driven by windy conditions and a dry, hot summer.

The biggest is the Carr Fire in Northern California, which has killed six people, including two firefighters, and prompted the evacuation of 37,000 from their homes.

We are very appreciative of the Australian and New Zealand firefighters for their availability to assist us with our current fire situation,” said Dan Smith, the chair of the U.S.’s National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group.

“Because of the current level of commitment and forecast, having fire management expertise from Australian and New Zealand with specialized experienced firefighters will be of tremendous help as we continue suppressing ongoing fires.”

📌 Judge's ruling invalidates FEC regulation on 'dark money' anonymous donations

Judge's ruling invalidates FEC regulation allowing anonymous donations to 'dark money' groups
By BRENT D. GRIFFITHS 08/04/2018 04:11 PM EDT

A U.S. District Court judge on Friday issued a ruling invalidating a Federal Election Commission regulation that has allowed donors to so-called dark-money groups to remain anonymous, the latest development in a years-long legal battle that could have major implications for campaign finance.

Judge Beryl A. Howell ruled the FEC's current regulation of such groups, including 501(c) 4 non-profits, fails to uphold the standard Congress intended when it required the disclosure of politically related spending.

The decision paves the way for new requirements that could force nonprofits to disclose donors who give least $200 toward influencing federal elections. (Social-welfare nonprofits such as Crossroads GPS are allowed to spend money on elections so long as it's not their "major purpose."

In the post Citizens United era, spending by these groups has ballooned, but they have largely avoided having to report individual donors as a result of the FEC's belief that their names only need to be disclosed in limited circumstances.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a watchdog group that brought the suit against the FEC, hailed the decision as a "major game changer" for political spending.

"This ruling looks like a major game changer,” Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) Executive Director Noah Bookbinder said in a statement. “Based on this ruling , the public should know a whole lot more about who is giving money for the purpose of influencing an election, and it will be much harder for donors to anonymously contribute to groups that advertise in elections.”

CREW sued the FEC after Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS, a 501(c) 4 offshoot of the former Bush aide's Crossroads super PAC, failed to disclose the names of contributors behind its $6 million effort to defeat Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) in his 2012 race. A representative for Crossroads GPS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Former FEC Commissioner Ann Ravel heralded the ruling as "groundbreaking" ....MORE AT LINK
