44 Companies Step Up to Address Severe Shortages

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, October 27, 2017 — Direct Relief today airlifted 152,604 lbs. of urgently needed medical resources to Puerto Rico, where medical shortages persist more than a month after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.

The Direct Relief-chartered MD-11 cargo jet contained $21 million (wholesale) in donated medical resources from 44 companies (full list of companies below), including extensive quantities of intravenous solutions and prescription medications for acute conditions and chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension that can rapidly become medical emergencies if not managed.

“This airlift will go a long way towards helping our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico, and I am eternally grateful to Direct Relief and all of the organizations involved,” said President Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, and founder and board chair of the Clinton Foundation.
“Their efforts are a reminder that when so many people need our help, our common humanity matters even more.”

The Clinton Foundation has supported Direct Relief’s work for years, including the recovery efforts after the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa in 2014.

On her 70th birthday, Hillary Clinton was an honoree at the Women’s Media Awards, becoming the organization’s inaugural recipient of their Wonder Woman Award—and who better to fit the bill?

As Women’s Media Center co-founder Jane Fonda said in her opening remarks, Clinton has for years been changing lives and ensuring that women’s rights are human rights and vice versa.

“Over the years, I’ve watched Hillary break glass ceilings and champion women and girls and fight for human rights domestically and internationally by [leading with] compassion and passion and dedication,” Fonda said.
“She has accomplished so much, all in the face of extremely toxic masculinity. She gets down, but she bounces right back, and that’s never been more true than right now when the person least qualified in history to be president of the United States is president.”

when a federal court ordered excerpts of Kris Kobach’s testimony disclosed along with other documents obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union in our challenge to his restrictive voter registration regime.

The unsealed materials confirm what many have suspected: Kobach has a ready-made plan to gut core voting rights protections enshrined in federal law. And he has been covertly lobbying Trump’s team and other officials from day one to sell them the falsehood that noncitizens are swinging elections.

As the de facto head of President Trump’s election commission, Kobach has positioned himself to lead an all-out assault on the right to vote.

"An all cash purchase by an LLC of an overvalued property in Manhattan is usually worth a closer look by federal investigators,” said Jaimie Nawaday, a former federal prosecutor and money laundering specialist who is now a partner with the New York law firm Kelley Drye & Warren.
“There are perfectly good reasons to buy and sell through LLCs, but the combination of facts is one that tends to arouse interest.”

Cohen did not answer questions about the buyer’s identity or how the transaction was conducted. Herbert Chaves, a lawyer who served as “manager” for the LLC that paid $10 million for the property, declined comment.

NYAG Schneiderman goes after Weinstein Co for civil rights violations

Mr. Schneiderman said in a statement on Monday. “If sexual harassment or discrimination is pervasive at a company, we want to know.”

On Monday, the attorney general’s Civil Rights Bureau sent a subpoena to the company seeking a long list of documents, including personnel files; criteria for hiring, promoting and firing; formal and informal complaints of sexual harassment or other discrimination based on gender or age; and records showing how such complaints were handled, according to a person who has seen the confidential subpoena and who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The office is also seeking any documents and communications related to private out-of-court settlements struck with accusers, the person said.

Yesterday I read that Weinstein was heavily funded in the fashion/modeling industry.

I am seriously hoping that Schneiderman, already having knowledge of Boris Epstein & Donald Trump's modeling business as a cover for /human sex trafficking/money laundering, that this investigation into Weinstein in NY also snares Trump's modelling business.

AG Schneiderman has been after this corrupt business long before Trump entered the field of politics.

Schneiderman's dragnet casts wider to bring down the business of underage human sex trafficking under the guise of an International Modeling Agency.

I don't believe the players in that industry are NOT connected with each other.
I am counting on Schneiderman to tie one to the other.

Browder Cleared to Travel to US

Browder told The Hill that he discovered last week that his status on Homeland Security's Global Entry program and his privileges to enter the U.S. as a citizen of Great Britain had been revoked.

A spokesperson at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told The Hill late Monday afternoon that Browder had been cleared for travel to the U.S., indicating that the department had initiated a manual review of his application last week, which would result in it being placed in a "pending status."

However, Browder told The Hill that he was initially notified by CBP via email that his status on the Global Entry program had been changed on Oct. 19, one day after Homeland Security says that his application had been manually approved. That email notification set off the chain of events resulting in Browder discovering that his travel privileges had been suspended.

Browder's account triggered alarm on Capitol Hill, with Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Ben Cardin (D-Md.) urging Homeland Security to immediately review the decision to revoke his travel privileges.

"It would be unfortunate if the U.S. decided to bar him based on a decision by those same Russian officials who have been targeted by this important legislation," the lawmakers said in a statement.

Browder is a proponent of the Magnitsky Act, which was signed into law in 2012 in order to punish human rights abusers in Russia.

With him, I've learned he is an oppurtunist & ruthless in achieving money & power for himself & his allies, Putin & in this case rEXXON Tillerson.

Trump's selection to power was & always will be about Oil & money & power.

Like the vultures they are, the devastation in Puerto Rico & surrounding islands is ripe for the picking in the matter of Oil drilling.
This is key as we all wonder why he is weak on assistance to these people.

The Puerto Rican people wanted to decide how oil is developed & they wanted to keep the resources & $$ for their people & island development.

Mobile Exxon & others wanted it for themselves.
This devastation weakens the govt, the people's voice in this matter & opens the door for global oil vultures to step in.
They must be positively giddy!
