For me, legalizing millions of immigrants who have helped move this country forward and are being victimized by government, and revamping the immigration system to make it more efficient and easier for good people to come here.

Social libertarianism: Why or why not?
I do not consider myself a social libertarian, but I find agreeing with them a lot in many issues. So, I wonder: How many of you are ideologically close to them? If so, why? If not, why not? Just want to throw this out there to see how other DUers think- not to engage in a contentious ideological battle or in personal confrontations.
A quick call for civility.
First of all, I love DU, as it is a strong community of Democrats committed to progressive values. There is a lot of wonderful people here, with interesting viewpoints and with a lot of knowledge to share. This is a great community to learn and to become intellectually engaged.
However, it does sadden me that sometimes, when some hot button issues are discussed, the discourse tends to go down the drain to the point that threads lose their purpose. We all can agree or disagree vehemently, without making assumptions about the other person or by berating anyone. In fact, let's appreciate the diversity of thought that exists among us, as it is for the most part rooted in the same set of progressive values, whether we realize or not.
So, if I have offended anyone or made anyone feel uncomfortable in any recent discussion, I apologize. Every one of your opinions is a possibility to learn, grow, or at least see a divergent opinion, and I hope that you will receive my posts the same way.
This Kraft thing has to be bigger than what we know so far...
Asian Massage Parlors here in Florida are everywhere, and it's no secret that most of them engage in some sort of illegal sexual activity. The police raids them from time to time, but for the most part the charges are either plain prostitution and operating a health establishment without a license. Most Johns aren't even charged. How many of these places engage in human trafficking? Don't know, but I am willing to guess that quite a few.
The fact that the Vero Beach (or Jupiter, not sure) police jumped on this case the way they did and are looking for hundreds of people to arrest them tells me that something very nefarious was going on over there. Also, the fact that two prominent individuals have been identified so far, tells me that something is just very rotten.
So, stay tuned...
