Do you ever hear Trumpers say

"Now you know how WE felt when Obama was president!"

Um .... no .... I guess I don't.

They say that Obama gave too many "handouts" to the "lazy" and poor. That he "apologized" to other countries and made us look "weak". That he favored immigrants over American citizens. That they felt ashamed that Obama was so weak and spineless.

If faced with a choice, I'll take the president who has compassion for the vulnerable and owns up to America's mistakes, over a shameful blowhard whose obsession with not appearing "weak" only makes us cruel and hateful.

And F you Nikki Haley, poverty in America is a HUGE problem and only gets worse under your boss' willfully ignorant policies.

OK that's all I have to say......

I guess she wanted to play NOW

Even though it was dinner time for the humans ..... my dog got her ball (bigger than a tennis ball) and tossed it right into the middle of the dinner table and just about got it in the pizza box, missed it by inches. I told her, okay Sophie, just don't do that when we have company. Have to teach you some manners, little lady.

America's Poor Becoming more Destitute Under Trump

Just heartbreaking. Especially for the folks who are trying to work and just can't keep their heads above water.

**************

Americans born into poverty are more likely than ever before to stay that way, according to a United Nations report on poverty and inequality in the US.

"The United States, one of the world's richest nations and the "land of opportunity," is fast becoming a champion of inequality," the report concluded.

US Ambassador to the UN Nicki Haley said, "It is patently ridiculous for the United Nations to examine poverty in America."

************** Nikki Haley .... you are one delusional twit. But you're not the only one.

Weaponizing Government

From the WaPo.

"Just as Republicans pretend to care about the deficit only until they get the opportunity to cut taxes and raise military spending, their concern about overbearing government bureaucracy turns out to be extremely selective. If you’re the right kind of person — a large corporation that would like to pollute more or mistreat its workers, or a payday lender charging usurious interest rates, or a for-profit college scamming its students, let’s say — they’re committed to liberating you from government’s oppressive hand. But if you’re the wrong kind of person — an immigrant or a poor person, let’s say — they’ll use government bureaucracy to increase your misery in any way they can."

**********and this is apparent to anyone with more than two brain cells and a heart! Obvious and sickening.

My dog Sophie

Loves children .... and would like to challenge all dogs out there to line up behind her and bite a chunk out of Trump's ass. She asks, who's with me?

Trump wants to pull U.S. out of U.N. Human Rights Council

Of course he does .... we don't care about no stinkin' human rights!

*************

"The Trump administration plans to announce its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday, making good on a pledge to leave a body it has long accused of hypocrisy and criticized as biased against Israel, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley plan to announce the withdrawal at the State Department in Washington at 5 p.m., said the sources, who asked not to be identified discussing a decision that hadn’t yet been made public."

What it Means to be Loved by a Dog

NASHVILLE — There’s a story my husband has been telling for nearly 15 years, since not long after United States forces invaded Iraq. In a news report, American soldiers were going door to door with bomb-sniffing dogs, trying to persuade the citizens of Baghdad to adopt a well-trained pet.......

Humidity Hair

I vowed, when I went through a summer of chemo 11 years ago and was as bald as a cue ball, that I'd never complain about having a"bad hair day" again.

But gosh, I'm getting tired of my summer humidity hair. I feel like a 61-year old Little Orphan Annie.

"Cost cutting" middlemen reap millions via drug pricing, data shows

From the ongoing series about drug prices from the Columbus Dispatch.

"A middleman company hired to keep the state's prescription-drug prices in check for Ohioans on Medicaid is receiving millions in taxpayer money meant to provide medications for the poor and disabled.

Records of transactions provided to The Dispatch from 40 pharmacies across Ohio show that CVS Caremark routinely billed the state for drugs at a far higher amount than it paid pharmacies to fill the prescriptions. The state-sanctioned practice, known as "spread pricing," allows the middlemen, called pharmacy benefit managers, to keep the difference on medications used to treat health concerns ranging from mental illness to osteoporosis.

"PBMs have been fighting transparency, accountability and fiduciary obligations for years, and now I think we know why," said Antonio Ciaccia, a lobbyist for the Ohio Pharmacists Association. "PBMs criticize drug companies for inflating their prices. Here it seems they are the ones inflating prices."
