Went for the hearing aids today. 2nd attempt, this time Costco.

As described by an ent 15 years ago, the loss is in the upper register and there is not too much relief to be had.

The Costco lady confirmed it.... Did the test, tried two of their three brands of hearing aids and did the "walk around the store" routine.

Both were as useless as my left nut.

I don't fault Costco but I am left frustrated and disappointed.

The shit that stays in my head. It was 62 years ago. I was a senior in h.s., weighed about 105 pounds.

He was a bully and I was his target.

How I hated him.

A couple of years later, he got drafted Or maybe he enlisted. And he got killed in Viet Nam.

I was glad.

And for some reason, he came up in my head today.

He's still dead. And I'm still glad.

How to help a young man find friends?

I'm in a volunteer organization with this guy. He is in is 20's. Asian decent. Quite good looking. Dropped out of an Ivy League school.

I see him once a week when we volunteer at an organization. There are only three of us that volunteer. I am 81. Steve is 79. We don't talk too much about our personal lives. The work we do puts us in contact with very few other people.

He has a job which doesn't put him in contact with people his age. Steve and I and the staff of the organization have expressed the hope that he would find a job that paid him more and would get him a life. We would miss him as a volunteer but would like something better for him.

Today, he asked me if I would like to go with him to a movie theater that is showing anime shorts. I would have gone with him but I am having hearing difficulties. (Hearing aids are being bought and installed next month). Any sound track would be received as distortion.

He said he understood and asked me because he has no friends. His family is in the home country.

Any thoughts?

Defeating Dobbs? Jury nullification.

Jury nullification has been used as a fear that Donald Trump will be exonerated at trial by pro-Trump jury members who vote "Not Guilty" at his trials.

Pro-choice jury members on trials of abortion seekers, providers and patients can also vote, "Not guilty" at trials.

Hearing aids. --- it's getting about time. Problem is, they're expensive and I don't want to lose them.

And I wear glasses, especially outdoors.

So the question: Do the arms on glasses keep the top of the hearing aid less secure? Both rest on the same part of the ear.

This may be the most important post I have hit "Return" on. It's about indoor smoking pollution.

I have worked for 33 years in an effort to eliminate pollution from in public buildings from second hand smoke. I attended and spoke at municipal meetings in N.J., spoke at the N.J. State Senate, and carried monitoring equipment to measure particulate matter in enclosed public spaces.

As a result, NJ. went "smoke free" in 2006, except for casinos.

So what's the "beef?" My complaint is, Where is O.S.H.A. in all of this? O.S.H.A. has recognized indoor pollution from smoke as early as 1992. O.S.H.A's mission is to eliminate health and safety hazards from workplaces.

Yet, they ignore this issue.

What I wanna know. Anal Fistula and Putin had a sit down. A.F. had one translator who was not allowed to take notes.

No record of the conversation between the two exists. Then the binder disappears.

--- needs a little work.

So a new restaurant opens in our area. (Name and location withheld). The owner states that he wants this restaurant to earn a Michelin star.

So we go in, white table cloths, nice seats, wall decor is sparse but ok.

But he also has a secondary goal.... to hire kids of a high school or college age and maybe interest them in a career in the restaurant industry. So far, all is good until this girl, maybe high school or so and she is taking our beverage order.

But all the while she is doing this, her nose is running and she is sniffling. Instead of going into the kitchen or wherever and "blowing her nose," she is sniffling while taking beverage and later, supper orders.

Most of the service from the kid was up to par. Orders were written down and delivered to the proper seat at the table.

But if there is gonna be a Michelin rating, the plan needs a little work.

Hunter Biden and the Star Chamber hearing.

Seems the 6th Amendment requires a public trial. A hearing is not a trial, but expect for issues of national security, why should any hearing be held in secret?
