Man checks out neighbor’s real estate listing — sees his own cat

A British man says that while checking out his neighbor’s online real estate listing, he came across his cat relaxing on a bed in that person’s home.



“The neighbours just put the house up for sale,” Michael Hubank wrote on Twitter. “Couldn’t resist checking it out on Zoopla. That’s our bloody cat.”

According to Hubank, Freddy is well-known to several neighbors, some of whom know the feline by different names.

“He’s shameless,” Hubank said.

James Carson, based in Houston, Texas, had responded to a March 23 post made on Rep. Jim Lucas' (R-IN) Facebook page

Soon the two engaged in a tense debate, with Carson commenting on the origins of the Constitution

'The first slave owner in America was black, Blacks captured and sold blacks as slaves. Slavery is vile and repugnant, but has, and is tragically a way of humanity,' Lucas claimed

Lucas then turned his attention to how Carson was able to get through schooling to become a doctor

'Did you get any scholarships or financial assistance because of your skin color? Any minority scholarships?' the politician asked

He has a long history of making problematic comments on Facebook and was removed from two committees last year for his remarks

K-pop stars BTS share racial discrimination they faced

K-pop stars BTS have spoken out about their own experience with racial discrimination in the wake of rising anti-Asian violence in the US.



"We recall moments when we faced discrimination as Asians. We have endured expletives without reason and were mocked for the way we look. We were even asked why Asians spoke in English," said the band in a statement posted on Twitter Tuesday.

"We cannot put into words the pain of becoming the subject of hatred and violence for such a reason."

Anti-Asian attacks have increased dramatically across the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biden administration expanding pause on student loan interest and collections

The Biden administration is expanding the pause on student loan interest and collections to the more than a million borrowers who are in default on loans made by private lenders, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday.

"This step particularly protects 800,000 borrowers who are at risk of having their tax refunds seized," Psaki said at a White House briefing.

The pause on collections covers loans made as part of the Federal Family Education Loan Program. It does not apply to borrowers who are not in default.

Biden has resisted calls from top congressional Democrats -- including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren -- to use his executive authority to forgive $50,000 in federal student loan debt per borrower.

Here’s another funny joke — put your name on the most obtrusive and expensive thing San Francisco has ever seen, as the biggest private employer in the city … then three years later announce that the majority of your workforce will no longer be working in S.F. offices full time ever again. Zing.

One of the weirdest pitches in building the tower was that it would help civic neighborhood life on the block, in the same way that a freeway helps a deer.

As anyone who has strolled around Mission and First knows, that didn’t happen. The streets shrouded under swaths of deep blue opaque glass at the fat end of the steely shaft do not provide a pleasant neighborhood stroll.

One of the strangest things about the tower is that, due to its wholly unnecessary height and location, there are some spots around the bay where San Francisco was always out of view, but now ONLY the Salesforce Tower is visible.

Strolling by the cliffs at Land’s End, driving out of SFO, hiking the western slope of Mount Diablo. From these vantage points the tip of the tower is now part of the horizon, while no other buildings creep into view.

An Instagram account, JustTheTipSF, highlights this phenomenon and has received more than 1,000 photo submissions of distant views that were once sky, and now are speared by glass. (Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff once tweeted a link to the website before deleting it, maybe realizing that the site wasn’t celebrating his tower but mocking its omnipresent phallic appearance.)

Remote Alaska Crash Kills One of World's Richest Men
Petr Kellner, 56, of Czech Republic dies while on heli-skiing trip



A crash in Alaska's backcountry during a Saturday heli-skiing trip claimed five lives, including that of the Czech Republic's richest man. The AP reports Petr Kellner, 56, had a 98.93% stake in the global investment company PPF Group and a net worth pegged at $17.5 billion; Forbes had him as the 68th richest person in the world in 2020. Reuters says this of the 56-year-old: "Kellner avoided public attention but was known to be a keen skier. A picture of him snowboarding was published in an annual [PPF] report." Benjamin Larochaix, also of the Czech Republic, was also killed; the two were reportedly regular guests at the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.

A California teacher has resigned after being heard on a hot mic making racist, insulting remarks about a Black student, his mother and the Black community at large for more than a half-hour.

“She’s answered her phone for the first time the entire year,” the teacher said, according to the video obtained by the Orange County Register. “I mean these parents, that’s what kind of piece of s—t they are.”


“He’s Black. They’re a Black family,” she added. In the call, she also deploys racist slurs against Stokes and her son.

“I’m seeing what you’re not going through,” a voice on the call says, identified by the Register as Newman’s husband.

“Your son has learned to lie to everybody and make excuses ... to be a child,” Newman goes on to say. “Since you’ve taught him to make excuses that nothing is his fault. This is what Black people do.”
