Today I saw this on YouTube

And I wasn't watching, just had it streaming on my Roku for some background music until the lyrics got my attention very fast!

Through the years music has been a form of protest and a form to express our frustration and anger at the political system, from protest songs from Bob Dillon to modern songs from Rise Against.

This however is on a whole other level & I was floored watching this. I'm not sure there has been a song which has really hit home before, well none that it relates to happening today for sure.

A little background, the band features members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. It is NSFW doe to language. So be cautious about that.

Here are the lyrics.

I thought I'd share, really powerful stuff!

POLL: Democrats More Positive About Socialism Than Capitalism

Seeing as how this has been a rather topic lately, a new poll just came out by Gallup that says Democrats prefer socialism to capitalism. What is interesting is what seems to be a generational gap in polling where 51% of 18-29 year olds approve but those aged 65+, only 28% approve.

Democrats have a more favorable view of socialism than capitalism, according to a poll released by Gallup on Monday.

Of the Democrats who responded to the questionnaire, 57 percent view socialism positively while 47 percent view capitalism positively.

Just two years ago in 2016, 56 percent of Dems had a positive view of capitalism. But there has been little movement on their feelings towards socialism since 2010, when 53 percent of poll respondents had a positive view.

On the other hand, Republicans feel very positive about capitalism, according to the poll. In a minor bounce from 2016, 71 percent of Republicans are now in favor of capitalism while only 16 percent have positive sentiments towards socialism.

The poll comes as the popularity of self-identifying Democratic socialists like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remains high.

How many are aware of "Right Wing Twitter"?

I'm rather curious.

It exists. It isn't affiliated with Twitter at all but it is a very real thing. I guess this is more of a heads up and a PSA than anything else but before any of you get any ideas about joining another social media site, especially ones that are all the rage, you all may wish to avoid this one.

Let's take a look at the Wiki description for this site which has 100s of 1000s users shall we?

Gab is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based social networking service formerly based in Austin, Texas.[5][1] It was created as an alternative to Twitter and promotes itself as supporting free speech.[6] It allows its users to read and write messages of up to 300 characters, called "gabs". The site also offers multimedia functionality.

Gab has been described as a platform for white supremacists and the alt-right.

What a wonderful place beaming and filled with flowers, rainbows and all things happy! Not.

Just be aware I guess is what I am trying to say. In this day and age, the wolves are often dressed up in sheep's clothing.

Here's a screen shot of what is currently "popular" on this right wing version of Twitter. This should tell you all need to know.

History is being made tonight in Vermont!

“Jewish people can be beautiful people, but there’s ideologies associated with that that I don’t agree with...Jews today are a remnant of the tribe of Judah that rejected Christ.”

Al Gore

You know, call me crazy but maybe just MAYBE 2020 is Al Gore's time.
Watch this as he's speaking with the #PoorPeoplesCampaign.

He nailed it and he is talking like he's running. His name hasn't been mentioned anywhere but hot damn if the time for him was ever to run, it's 2020. I didn't see this coming.

Does AOC read DU?

I can't help but wonder!
