cayugafalls's JournalWishing you all that times like these will bring us all love and understanding.
I know it is hard to be positive lately with all the garbage happening in the world, the list is too long to put in this op and I just wanted to be a positive light for all of my DU friends and wish you all that your time, right now, just pause, hug yourself, kiss your loved ones, smile at someone you don't know, feel the sunlight on your face and remember that we are all here to bring light and happiness to the world.
Do what you can, be who you are, love and laugh, smile at the new day.
Wishing you all the best, it is worth fighting for, but there is nothing that says the fight can't be one of love and light.

Saturday Night Album Rock - Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
Their only studio album...you can't contain raw energy.
...snip...
By the time of its release, the Sex Pistols were already controversial, having sworn on live TV, been fired from two record labels, and been banned from playing live in some parts of Britain. The album title added to that controversy, with some people finding the word "bollocks" offensive. Many record stores refused to carry it and some record charts refused to list its title, showing just a blank space instead.
Due in part to its notoriety, and in spite of many sales bans at major retailers, the album debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts. It achieved advance orders of 125,000 copies after a week of its release and went gold only a few weeks later, on 17 November. It remained a best-seller for nearly a year, spending 48 weeks in the top 75.[1] The album has also been certified platinum by the RIAA. It has seen several reissues, the latest in 2017.
In 1987, Rolling Stone magazine named the album the second best of the previous 20 years, behind only the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The same magazine ranked it number 73 on their list of 500 greatest albums of all time in 2020. In 2006, it was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 greatest albums ever.

Friday Night Album Rock - Sonic Youth - Dirty (PYF Edition)
Friday Night Pick Your Favorite Edition
Dirty reached number 83 on the US Billboard 200 and number six on the UK Albums Chart. The album spawned four singles: the lead single "100%" charted well, but was not the crossover hit the label anticipated, followed by "Youth Against Fascism", which did not chart well. The last two were "Sugar Kane" and "Drunken Butterfly", with the former performing better commercially than the latter. In support of the album, Sonic Youth embarked on the "Pretty Fucking Dirty" tour of 1992 and 1993, where they played most of the album during sets. In late 1992, they toured North America, and in early 1993, they toured New Zealand and Australia and released the Whores Moaning EP, which featured most of the "Sugar Kane" B-sides.

Saturday Night Album Rock - Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Tying something different tonight. Play your favorite off the album. No need to listen to the whole thing if you don't have the time.
Syd Barrett was such an important influence on the band as a whole and his presence was never forgotten.
Peace, cayugafalls
In the United States, the album was released as Pink Floyd in October on Tower Records, with an altered track listing that omitted three songs and included the UK non-album single "See Emily Play". In the UK, no singles were released from the album, but in the US, "Flaming" was offered as a single. Two of its songs, "Astronomy Domine" and "Interstellar Overdrive", became long-term mainstays of the band's live setlist, while other songs were performed live only a handful of times. Since its release, the album has been hailed as a pivotal psychedelic rock album.

Friday Night Album Rock - Pearl Jam - Riot act
Pearl Jam's 2000 European tour ended in tragedy on June 30, with an accident at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Nine fans were crushed underfoot and suffocated to death as the crowd rushed to the front. After numerous requests for the crowd to step back, the band stopped playing and tried to calm the crowd when the musicians realized what was happening, but it was already too late. The two remaining dates of the tour were canceled and members of the band contemplated retiring after this event.
Riot Act (20022005)
Pearl Jam commenced work on a new album following a year-long break after its full-scale tour in support of Binaural. McCready described the recording environment as "a pretty positive one" and "very intense and spiritual." Regarding the time period when the lyrics were being written, Vedder said, "There's been a lot of mortality...It's a weird time to be writing. Roskilde changed the shape of us as people, and our filter for seeing the world changed." Pearl Jam released its seventh album, Riot Act, on November 12, 2002. It included the singles "I Am Mine" and "Save You". The album featured a much more folk-based and experimental sound, evident in the presence of B3 organist Boom Gaspar on songs such as "Love Boat Captain". Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic said "Riot Act is the album that Pearl Jam has been wanting to make since Vitalogya muscular art rock record, one that still hits hard but that is filled with ragged edges and odd detours." The track entitled "Arc" was recorded as a vocal tribute to the nine people who died at the Roskilde Festival in June 2000. Vedder only performed this song nine times on the 2003 tour, and the band left the track off all released bootlegs.
Seasons - Chris Cornell
From the movie soundtrack Singles...an often overlooked Chris Cornell classic and probably one of his best, OK all his music is his best, but Seasons is a stand out lyrically and musically. His vocals on this are really extremely difficult and really show his vocal prowess. Notice on the highs, that is not a falsetto, he had a nearly four octave range. Sure the studio version is better, but this live version shows he is not tricking anyone, Chris was the real deal. Both live and studio version presented here.
Push Off - The Palms
For some reason these lyrics just stick with me today...
As you're sitting on the sidelines
Don't think you can play with my mind
'Cause that's all mine
While you're slippin' sideways
I've been making my own way
Don't think I'll waste no more time
'Cause that's all mine
'Cause you're a push off
Go on push off
