New Trump fact check from the AP.
"President Donald Trump is spreading falsehoods on issues of race, immigration and American-ness, exhorting four non-white female lawmakers to 'go back' to where they came from and crying foul over his failed bid to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census."

Not new to DUers, but nice to see it in the media.
Kakistocracy
"A kakistocracy is a system of government that is run by the worst, least qualified, and/or most unscrupulous citizens."

Article in local paper about Saturday's Impeach Trump rally in Vancouver.
http://www.thereflector.com/news/article_a5386b0e-9140-11e9-b511-bbd221faafe1.htmlI'm happy to report that my head count was right on the money. Maybe I should do that professionally....
Well, this brightened my day a bit. re: McConnell
MoveOn sent me a snippet from Nate Silver's latest this morning. I like the thought, and hope he's right.
"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is only three points ahead of a generic Democratic opponent. And more than 60% of the voters in McConnell's home state of Kentucky are saying that 'it's time for someone new' to represent the state."
Orlando paper rejects Trump.
"'Were here to announce our endorsement for president in 2020, or, at least, who were not endorsing: Donald Trump,' the Orlando Sentinel said in its Tuesday staff editorial. 'Because theres no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump.'

Just got back from the MoveOn rally
in Vancouver, WA. It was relatively small--maybe 100 people altogether--but it was held in the same place and time as the weekly Farmers' Market, so a lot of people at least got to hear us. LOL I'd say at least 40% of the crowd consisted of old Sixties Counterculturalists like me. I imagine the one being held across the river in Portland was bigger and younger.
I took photos, but for some reason my ancient iPhone will not send to my email. I'll keep fiddling with it....
My favorite sign read "Jail to the Chief."
Noah didn't retire, so why should we?
"There's nothing in the Bible that talks about retirement. And yet it's been an accepted concept in our culture today. Nowhere does it say, 'Well, he was a good and faithful servant, so he went to the beach.' It doesn't say that anywhere.
"The example I think of is Noah. How old was Noah when he built the ark? 600. He wasn't like, cashing Social Security checks, he wasn't hanging out, he was working. So, I think we have an obligation to work. The role we have in work may change over time, but the concept of retirement is not biblical."

The article points out that--surprise, surprise--Gianforte is rich.
The good news in this article is that he is stepping down from his House seat.
