Justice matters.'s JournalI don't want a delay': Trump rows back on delaying election but not on mail-in ballots
Source: USA Today
WASHINGTON President Donald Trump on Thursday walked back the notion of delaying this year's election, arguing that he was attempting with a tweet hours earlier to draw attention to potential problems with the widespread use of mail-in ballots.
"Do I want to see a date change? No," Trump said. "But I don't want to see a crooked election."
Trump drew bipartisan derision Thursday for questioning in a tweet whether the November presidential election should be delayed over concerns about voting during the pandemic. Congressional Republicans bluntly rejected the idea and Democrats accused the president of attempting to sow doubt if the election doesn't go his way.
"What will happen in November it's a mess," Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday. "I want a result much, more more than you...I don't want to be waiting around around for weeks and months."

Nine-year-old girl is the youngest to die from coronavirus in Florida, state health officials say
Source: CNN
By Denise Royal and Rosa Flores, CNN 30 mins ago
A 9-year-old girl with no known underlying health conditions is the youngest person to die from coronavirus complications in Florida, officials said.
Kimora "Kimmie" Lynum died on July 18 in Putnam County, according to Florida Department of Health records. It confirmed her identity and said she's the state's youngest coronavirus fatality.
She had no pre-existing health issues and her mother took her to the hospital due to a high fever, said family spokesman Dejeon Cain. The hospital sent her home and she collapsed a short time later, Cain said.
"She was always happy and made everybody happy. She was phenomenal," said Cain, who's also her cousin.

Looming evictions may soon make 28 million homeless in U.S., expert says
Emily Benfer began her career representing homeless families in Washington, D.C.
Her first case involved a family that had been evicted after complaining to their landlord about the holes in their roof. One of the times she met with the family, one of the children, a 4-year-old girl, asked her: Are you really going to help us? Benfer struggled with how to answer.
Id met them too late, she said. I couldnt stop the eviction. They had already been sleeping on the subway, and in other peoples homes. And you could see the effects it was taking on them.
Today, Benfer is a leading expert on evictions. She is the chair of the American Bar Associations Task Force Committee on Eviction and co-creator of the COVID-19 Housing Policy Scorecard with the Eviction Lab at Princeton University. Throughout the public health crisis, Benfer has been investigating how states are dealing with evictions and sharing what she finds in a public database.

Trump tweet threatens tax-exempt status of schools, colleges
Source: Politico
President Donald Trump said Friday he's instructed the Treasury Department to review the tax-exempt status of U.S. schools, colleges and universities, in a pair of tweets that advanced his administration's weeklong drive to turn education into a political wedge issue.
"Too many Universities and School Systems are about Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education," Trump tweeted.
"Therefore, I am telling the Treasury Department to re-examine their Tax-Exempt Status...... and/or Funding, which will be taken away if this Propaganda or Act Against Public Policy continues. Our children must be Educated, not Indoctrinated!"
The vast majority of U.S. public and private universities and colleges are tax-exempt entities because of their educational purposes or the fact that they are entities of state governments, according to the Association of American Universities.
