Les Moonves, Fired by CBS, Sets Up Shop in Hollywood

And CBS is paying for his office space for one full year.

This is exactly what I'm talking about regarding me too and Democrats vs pubicans. Where is justice for Moonves accusers? Where is justice for matt lauer's accusers? bill o'liely? brett kavanaugh? donald j trump?

Why aren't they all in cells next to Bill Cosby? I think we know why. At least those who are honest enough to admit it. Political affiliation and skin. That's what keeps pubican sex abusers out of jail and in office. That and their deny, deny, deny strategy. While Democrats accused of any wrongdoing are forced to resign and face charges.

When will we wake up to the fact we're being ratfcked out of elections even after we win? Where is me too when there is an (R) behind the name?

I'm sure everyone is familiar with this quote:

"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," Moonves said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco, according to The Hollywood Reporter — perfectly distilling what media critics have long suspected was motivating the round-the-clock coverage of Trump's presidential bid.

"Most of the ads are not about issues. They're sort of like the debates," Moonves said, noting, "[t]here's a lot of money in the marketplace."

The 2016 campaign is a "circus," he remarked, but "Donald's place in this election is a good thing."

"Man, who would have expected the ride we're all having right now? ... The money's rolling in and this is fun," Moonves went on. "I've never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us. Sorry. It's a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on, Donald. Keep going.”

And now CBS is paying for Moonvees' office space for a year while he fights to get his $120 million severance pay. And while he still corrupts the entertainment industry on CBS' dime.

It's all so very white and all so very pubican.

Two NY Times social media stories juxtaposed

I don't do social media. I am anti-social media.

I read these two stories in the NY Times Business section over breakfast this morning. My wife gets the NY Times. The actual newspaper NY Times print edition. I get the Business section. I don't mind. I find they bury some of their most important stories there.

These two stories create a conundrum for me. In the first, Russia's wildly successful social media disinformation campaign is said to have now gone worldwide - and we all know how effective that campaign was considering its outcome here - the orange shit-stain in the White House.

The second story is on the effects of people going cold turkey off another social media platform, facebook, that was also instrumental in getting this traitor loser unelected to the White House (I refuse to use the "P" word in referencing the traitor).

My problem with these two stories is this; pootin's attack was so successful using twitter and facebook and other social media platforms to spread fake news on social media yet people who left the facebook are decried in the second article as having scored lower in political knowledge afterward.

Yet we now know the "political knowledge" they were getting was largely from fake news planted by pootin as well as "Americans targeting fellow Americans" with disinformation!

It doesn't make sense. One researcher in the second story actually equates facebook with reading The NY Times!

“It’s hard to know what to make of this,” Dr. Gentzkow said. “It may be that seeing a lot of news and politics on Facebook tends to polarize people. But once they’re off Facebook, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re using the extra time to read The New York Times.”

Read the full articles. Social media isn't the free press. Social media is changing the way people perceive reality. Social media isn't a solution. Social media is the problem.

That's why I'm anti-social media.

Never play name games

when your name includes the letters p-u-b-i-c. This can be termed as an insurmountable strategic disadvantage.

This has been a long-standing pet peeve of mine; pubicans removing letters from the word Democratic and referring to us as the "Democrat Party" instead of the correct nomenclature, The Democratic Party.

Well, I'd just like to point out that when your party's name includes the letters p-u-b-i-c you should be very careful about playing name games with any opponent.

Therefore, I will now and forever refer to these traitor-clowns as the pubican party. Or the pubics. Or whatever. You get the idea.

Drone captures destruction from massive fire at Marcal Paper plant

I drove by the Marcal Paper building for decades on I-80 and on Paterson Ave. It was a near half a million square foot icon in the North Jersey region.

This reminds me of the Burry's Biscuits fire in Elizabeth, NJ several years ago. Another huge iconic building I lived near for several years that burned to the ground. The Burry's building was so big firefighters couldn't get water to the core of the fire and it burned for days and days until the fire simply ran out of fuel.

The intoxicating aroma of those Burry's Biscuits baking permeated the entire neighborhood in the warm months. When it was hot, we used to try to swipe cookies from the open windows at Burry's when we were kids!

How could global warming be bringing the life-threatening cold to the central US this week? Scientists don’t have all the answers, but, they say, the jet stream is the link.

"Why cold air plunges south

Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities have warmed the globe by about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit (1 degree C) over the past 50 years. However, the Arctic has warmed more than twice as much. Amplified Arctic warming is due mainly to dramatic melting of ice and snow in recent decades, which exposes darker ocean and land surfaces that absorb a lot more of the sun’s heat.

Because of rapid Arctic warming, the north/south temperature difference has diminished. This reduces pressure differences between the Arctic and mid-latitudes, weakening jet stream winds. And just as slow-moving rivers typically take a winding route, a slower-flowing jet stream tends to meander.

Large north/south undulations in the jet stream generate wave energy in the atmosphere. If they are wavy and persistent enough, the energy can travel upward and disrupt the stratospheric polar vortex. Sometimes this upper vortex becomes so distorted that it splits into two or more swirling eddies.

These “daughter” vortices tend to wander southward, bringing their very cold air with them and leaving behind a warmer-than-normal Arctic. One of these eddies will sit over North America this week, delivering bone-chilling temperatures to much of the nation."
