OMG...Ferrero Rocher now makes candy bars....maybe not new, I don't know.

Anyway, I just discovered them, and I think they're better than the original round chocolates.

One of my favorite candies....

Is this silly to share?

With their effusive support of Putin,

Tucker Carlson, Pompeo, and The Former Guy have finally jumped the shark.

Just a feeling of mine that we will have to see play out, but IMO, there are too many of the Fox viewers (especially older ones) who still have strong ties to “Old Europe” and memories of WWII up close and personal, that they will not tolerate the support of Putin’s war brought to the doorsteps of their ancestral lands.

Support of Putin’s war is what the three morons are doing. They own it now….

I think this earlier post makes an important point about this invasion in relation to our elections:

From TheBlackAdder:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216384803

West of Ukraine is Poland. WI, MI, CT over 7% Polish Ancestry. PA, IL and others 5-7% & bunch 3-5%

Keep this shit up and if Ukraine falls to Russia, Belarus will probably become annexed too. While Belarus thinks they are being slick now by appeasing Putin, in short time he will move against them, when he has that country's Eastern & Southern borders.

Then, The new Soviet Union will be on Poland's Eastern Front.

I live in NJ, which has a 5.5% Polish-American population, my kids are half-Polish. I hear that Putin's threats against Ukraine are not sitting well at the Polish-American club.

Polish ancestry might be a factor in the 2022 & 2024 elections. And I'm sure a lot of other Americans with European roots are uneasy too. I bet they are paying attention, and if this goes to shit, the GOP will be fucked in quite a few states.

Bye, bye Nord Stream 2; hello alternative fuels....

I like this opinion:

https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/23/opinions/nord-stream-2-germany-putin-gas-energy-hockenos/index.html

....
While the energy implications for the rest of Europe -- some of which intended to rely on Russian gas to heat its homes for decades to come -- are far-ranging, they aren't tragic. On the contrary, this is a blessing in disguise.
....
Europe may rely on Russia for around 35% of its natural gas -- Germany over 50% -- but there are green alternatives that can step in and at the same time serve the purpose of addressing the ever more urgent climate crisis.
....
In fact, the pipeline was wildly controversial from the get-go, over a decade ago. Natural gas after all is a fossil fuel, the combustion of which emits high quantities of methane, a potent greenhouse gas. In Germany, natural gas is responsible for 20% of carbon emissions -- in other words, it's not in the least bit climate friendly.
The pipeline, which would have constituted Europe's largest fossil fuel project, flew in the face of the 2015 UN Paris accord by ignoring Europe's commitment to lower greenhouse emissions and keep global temperatures from rising less than 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Also, it committed western Europe to Russia for an ever greater share of its energy supply -- obviously an miscalculation given Putin's geopolitical weaponization of energy since 2009 when it first cut gas deliveries to eastern Europe.
....
Fortunately, the continent is already in the thick of transitioning from fossil fuels to electricity-based renewable energy. There are plans in place, strengthened last year at the COP26 summit in Glasgow and driven by the EU Green Deal, as well as pledges galore, though most countries have been much too slow in acting upon them. These plans have to be put into fifth gear, understood now as the solution to two crises.
....

[The article goes on to describe all the alternatives available to Europe.]

63 years ago in 1959,

Senator Chuck Grassley began his career as a politician when he was sworn into the Iowa House of Representatives:

Dwight D. Eisenhower was president.

The federal minimum wage was $1.00.

A gallon of milk cost $0.25.

A post stamp was $0.04.

And Iowans who cast their first vote for Grassley are now at least 85-years-old.

Times certainly have changed since 1959. And so has Chuck Grassley. During his 63-year-long political career, Chuck Grassley has taken millions from the NRA, Big Pharma, and special interests. He orchestrated the unprecedented blocking of a Supreme Court nomination for 293 days. And he’s falsely perpetuated the Big Lie rather than stand up for the truth and be a voice of reason.

Iowa deserves better.

Time to put Grassley OUT TO PASTURE !!

My one mile walk for cold winter days:

15 minutes. Nothing too taxing, and I modify as we go along.....

Also, I don't use bands, as I don't have any, but still move the arms as if I were using bands.

I plan to work up to doing it twice per day....

Sincerely,
A Septuagenarian
