She The People 2009 Presidential Forum will be streamed NOW! (8 candidates participating!)

Wednesday, April 24, 2019 | 1-4pm CT
Texas Southern University, Houston, TX

Dear Friends, we have an exciting NBC, Telemundo, and MSNBC exclusive streaming agreement for our Forum. You'll be able to access the livestream Wednesday April 24th, right before the show starts at 1 PM CT, so stay tuned to our social media where we'll announce the link for you to tune in! #ShethePeople2020

This year’s packed schedule of Democratic presidential town halls and debates will feature something different: a forum specifically designed to make candidates answer to women of color.

On April 24, much of the 2020 Democratic field will convene in Houston for a forum convened by She the People, a political organization founded to help center women of color in the political process. Democratic candidates who have officially declared were invited to attend, and Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.), Kamala D. Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), former Housing secretary Julián Castro (Tex.), Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii), and former congressman Beto O’Rourke (Tex.) will participate. It will take place at Texas Southern University, a public, historically black university.

Get to know Beto's policy positions here! (Updated to add Father's Day March to Tornillo tent camp)

I have collected a few video clips from twitter of Beto speaking about specific issues. I will try to add more as I find them. I know there are videos on nearly everything, including healthcare and education, free community college, debt free 4 year public college and debt forgiveness in exchange for public service, Medicare for America, etc. But for now here are these:

First, the video clip that made the nation fall in love with Beto. His answer to a voter who was frustrated over NFL players kneeling. It is one of the most powerful, moving and beautiful speeches I've ever heard.

Father's Day March to Tornillo, child detainment tent city in the hot desert where kids kidnapped from their parents at the border were taken. Who better to debate Trump about immigration and the border than this man? Beto speaks about half way through after interviewing Texans.

A very obnoxious heckler kept screaming and interrupting stump speech, yelling about single payer health care. Beto stopped to answer his question. As he began to answer the guy kept yelling and this was how Beto dealt with it while also responding to the question.

Universal all day Pre-K, teacher salaries, protecting schools against Betsy DeVos, Trade Union apprenticeships, free community college, debt free 4 year college, debt forgiveness for public service and refinance debt to make it less of a burden, etc.

Beto puts Texas in play...

Here are vote totals and percentages for Texas elections.

These numbers lead me to believe that if Beto is the nominee (or perhaps Biden's VP pick) that he can deliver Texas.

Texas 2012

Romeny: 4,569,843 57% TOTAL: 7,877,967
Obama: 3,308,124 41%

Cruz: 4,456,599 57%
Sadler: 3,183,314 40%

Texas 2014

Cornyn: 2,855,068 61.6% TOTAL: 4,449,320
Alameel: 1,594,252 34.4%

Texas 2016

Trump: 4,681,590 52.6% TOTAL: 8,549,406
Clinton: 3,867,816 43.4%

Texas 2018

Cruz: 4,260,553 50.9% TOTAL: 8,306,185
O'Rourke: 4,045,632 48.3%

Notice that Trump got almost 5% less of the vote in 2016 than Romney did in 2012. That indicates that even before putting kids in cages, Trump's support was weaker than usual. In 2016, Clinton got over 2% more in votes than Obama did in 2102, likely because support for Trump is not solid in Texas. Now factor in 2018 where Cruz got over 6% LESS in support from his 2012 race. Beto got over 7% more than Obama, over 5% more than Hillary did and over 8% more than Cruz's 2012 challenger. With how close Beto got against Cruz and how unpopular Trump is...IF Beto is the nominee than statistically speaking...Texas IS in play. The turnout for 2018 for a midterm nearly doubled, so you can expect an even higher number in 2020. Texas is 38 electoral voters and Trump NEEDS Texas or he's toast.

Best Argument AGAINST Impeachment...

IF Trump is successfully impeached then Pence becomes president.
IF Pence becomes president he WILL pardon Trump.
IF Pence pardons Trump he will NEVER pay for his crimes.
I want that Orange POS to rot in prison for the rest of his life and lose EVERYTHING.

Instead, I think impeaching Barr to protect the cases farmed out and start there.

(I haven't decided what I personally think at this point, but I wanted to put this viewpoint up for the purpose of discussion.)

Chris Cuomo on CNN is going to break down the Mueller Report at 9pm EST

He will be going over all of the most important points in the report, organized in a visual presentation that breaks down collusion and obstruction, etc.

He showed a bit of the presentation on Anderson Cooper and it looked really good.

Figured I would give a heads up for anyone interested.

Beto Town Hall Video Nashua Community College (Answers question about Mueller Report)

https://www.facebook.com/betoorourke/videos/390309981699401/

Great questions answered about why he supports Medicare for America instead of Medicare for All, addressing question about his record and claims that he takes money from the gas and oil industry, gun violence, the Mueller report release...

I noticed that Beto is a little less animated when he is on a stage and the audience is seated.
